Thanks no cutting involved just had to remove the pin holding the original handle in then swap it for the golf 1 there exactly the same the only thing is you can’t buy the handles separately they come as part of the door card because there plastic welded in but wasn’t hard to change and I’m useless at this kind of thing

Hi r1lea,

Would you mind sharing the Part Numbers for your Stalks and Slipring? I am working on fitting the same MFSW to my Caddy Mk4 and it would be great to have some part numbers to order stuff that actually works with the Mk4!

Much Appreciated!

First of all mate what steering wheel
Are you fitting ?
That will depend on the stalks and the slipring you need

Edit : just seen your other post
The pic you posted of the polo wheel is the one you ideally need
Image
That has red illumination and is without cruise which will work on your van

You’d then keep the cruise control on the stalk

You’d need a highline steering module / slipring, mine was 5K0 953 569 BD

To go for a mk7 golf wheel like mine with cruise on requires an aftermarket module made by “spacewalker”

Hi r1lea,

All the steering wheels listed on eBay mention Golf, Polo, Passat etc in the same description. What three digits should i be looking for in the Part Number? 5GO etc etc...

Yes, 6C0.
There's plenty of discussion on the forum about this, no need to go off topic on this thread.

Made a start on sound proofing.
Picked up some Car Builders Stage 1, similar to Dynamat I think. Available locally here in Adelaide, so worth a try. Cheaper too. Doing the rear “window” panels and wheel arches to start with, then rear roof, cabin roof and anywhere else I can get it into. Here’s a couple of the usual “started sound proofing” pics. Aiming for a bike/camper build, so see how we get on.

Started work on the rear floor, going to be a false floor with some storage space

Going to have to leave a little bit of room on the side of the top panel for the insulation and carpet that will be going on the arches (forgot to leave this space around the base board but it's not going to get taken out)ImageImage

Have you fitted your wheels yet fella?
I am about to pull the trigger on a set from them with the same dimensions.....the site 'willtheyfit' seems to suggest the poke will be considerable? I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if 30.4mm at the front and 40.1mm at the rear will work, while still being able to open the door?

Looking good mate,
You carpeting the walls also ?
Are you planning doing ply or just follow the shape?

@novakid
Yep full carpet on ply, I've got some stuff that was in it when I got it, but it's all splitting on the back side where it curves, so I may just do new. Will be carpet on all metal though, and carpeting the roof panels too, just need to work out how I'm going to have the rear interior lights coming thru the carpet.

Loaded up and went camping for the weekend with the missus. We’re just by Trearddur Bay on Anglesey.
