Really cool conversion! I`ll bet it is a headturner with that sound in a caddy :)

Do yo have the ABS, ESP and Traction control coded correctly to function as normal?

This is the part I fear the most in my Touran R32 conversion - I must have the ABS functionaing correectly - minimum, but REALLY want the ESP and Traction working too... even though I plan to go 4motion too.

CHeers.

R32 is such a cool conversion

Are traction contorts / abs / esp a problem ? ( even if you go 4motion with haldex ) ?

Nice conversion. I think the sound outweighs the performance with these engines as there only 250bhp. I think for pure power it would have to be a 2.0tfsi engine tuned up of course still.. Nice conversion either way
2011 caddy R line 1.6tdi dpf/egr delete 160bhp map. Centre exit exhaust, coilovers, 19" Rotiform's, Golf GTi brake upgrade, sportline spoiler, R line splitter, side bars, tints, smooth back doors, black roof, RX8 Leather heated bucket seats, RNS315 nav, and the list goes on...

it seems like a lot of work to put a tfsi in a caddy though after having a look on a thread at rosstech.

True but it would be worth it in the end. I bet they go well in a caddy

I'm quite curious what the part list is for this conversion too. more so about the looms if you needed any additional as cant see this being straight swap.

I don't think there would be much difference in difficulty between a TFSI or R32 engine. Both the majority of the work is wiring. The rest is mostly bolt in. Not being able to get R32 box in FWD configuration and converting it a little issue for R32. TFSI FWD/AWD boxes are not a problem. The ultimate setup would be to go with a MK5/6 rear suspension, the leaf springs are kind of the let down on any of these conversions. You can deal with leaf springs but on the limit, if you had to take evasive action you could end up with a problem. The only upside is, if your on the power the rear hasn't got much choice but to follow on.

These looms? Are they are standalone loom? I notice that on yours you have a separate rev counter. Does the original not work with it? Do they integrate with the existing loom? ABS Central electrics etc
