Cheers James mate! Wiring thankfully appeared a fraction of what was needed to do the R32 conversion, as most of the stripping and splicing had already been done. Few more cabling required for the dsg and the engine ecu was different too so he had to replace the plug with the passat one and change a bit of the wiring for fueling etc but plodding on and waiting for news on ecu

Wingback Gti's and R32 power for my pure grey

Post by hef355 » Tue Dec 24, 2019 5:02 pm

Well guys I said i’d have it running by Xmas!!!

Van has just had its first test drive! Its incredible, noise is amazing, gear change slick and everything works as it should with no warning lights!

Not bad going in 5 long, very long days! Further few days wait for ecu and auto selector both of which came today and started first turn! More details of this build and credits to come but to say i’m ecstatic would be an understatement!

Wish i could post a video on tapatalk for you guys to see/hear

Well deserved beer now I think and chill!

We have a Caddy R36 dsg

Merry Xmas to you all lads and God bless, Hef

Thanks doc that is something special coming from you sir! Thanks for the advice re ecu, was a bit of a slog but got there in the end! Now for that recommended “dog with 2 d...s” supercharger kit! You’re a bad influence

Merry Xmas my friend and hope 2020 is a great one for you and the family
