Not sure if this will help you in any way but as I am still really keen to do this, although I still need to get a caddy.
I saw a post on another forum about VW Self Study documents, the one in particular was about a T5 (which I do have), it showed all of the strengthening points for the T5 frame, electrics layouts, running gear layouts.... all that kind of stuff. Anyway, I have now found ones for the VW Caddy, the VW Golf, and the Golf running gear (these are all 2004-2009ish). Hope these help.

Golf: http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_318_d1.pdf
Golf running gear including R32: http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_321.pdf
Good luck on the project too!

Did you use standard tank and fuel lines?

No chance, gets in the way of the prop. On mine im using the A3 Quattro tank, modified to have the filler neck on the other side to suit the caddy, and A3 fuel lines.basman wrote:Did you use standard tank and fuel lines?

Looks an interesting build! Is the engine a straight fit onto the caddy engine mounts? Or do you have to fabricate some?
