Re: Caddy R360 build thread
I know, who would have guessed! The 3D parts are printed in carbon but just won't look like the nice stuff, plus they have to be made in 2 pieces and bonded together so skinning them in carbon will improve their strength. Plus it means I will have to get out the vacuum bagging equipment and re learn how to use it!

By the way, what’s written in the article is not exactly what I said! They’ve taken some artistic license. And make sure you check the Shout section at the end..........

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Finished and installed a new piece I’ve been working on. Felt like the box at the back the air lift manifold sits on didn’t flow well into the sides so came up with this strut brace idea. I’ll post up some of the process but it’s just mdf cut and extensively shaped by me.
While Reflex were painting it I got them to squirt on a bit of lacquer on the Sadistic Ironworks Carbon cover for the air lift controller

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Here’s a few photos of the strut brace being designed and made. It’s mdf that was cut and then using a template cutter on my router I could make the other side. Used an edge cutter to make the profile.
After I’d made both sides I realised there was a tweak to the design I wanted to make which was the bar that runs along the top of the box. In an ideal world I would have remade them but I’d put so much time in already I decided to add the pieces.

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Knocked up a carbon threshold protector for the rear bumper - real carbon with a 3M backing. It’s really to hide some scuffs from where the tailgate caught the bumper when it was out of alignment. They weren’t bad but as the tailgate is open all the time at shows they really stood out.

Think I’ve dialled in the lowest rolling height on the suspension that I would dare drive on. The fronts are seriously close to the arch lip when turned but you can go full lock. The rears could probably come down a little more but they’re tight as well. I’m hoping to do the parade lap at Deutsche Fest at Brands Hatch on Sunday like this.

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Why are you setting the bar so high, it's out of sight for me right now with all these quality upgrades you've done.
Be careful running that low on track, I'm not familiar with Brands Hatch but bumps on bends are not uncommon on track so you may be better allowing for some compression on the suspension.
