Re: Horace's Caddy
I have looked into the NZ option but none of the wreckers see to be interested in shipping to Australia.
May have to take a shopping trip to the land of the land white cloud.

Re: Horace's Caddy
Fitted my Passat W8 interior light today. Fitted my existing bluetooth microphone into the light too.
Due to the depth of the electrical plug the whole unit kept popping out of the overhead aperture. The plug pushes against the inner part of the overhead shelf. Consequently I had to file down the shelf to give enough space for the plug to fit without pushing the whole thing out.

Re: Horace's Caddy
Managed to get hold of a damaged plastic sump guard. Mended it with some plastic I had laying about, some glue and a few pop rivets.
It's not pretty but fits fine.

Re: Horace's Caddy
We don't have TPS in Australia so I had to take a second mortgage to buy the parts from VW

Re: Horace's Caddy
Roy save yourself the time and effort of rewiring and just buy one of these....Roy_NL wrote:Love the mods!

It's a lot easier than pulling apart the OEM plug and soldering on a new usb plug.

Re: Horace's Caddy
Caddy is looking good..!!
Where did you find that sump guard - did it make tonnes of difference to the cabin noise..?
Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much were the barn door handle bits to buy over here & did it take long to order in..?
Thanks
Nic
