Re: Cross Caddy Camper Project
The load mat is a VW original part (2K5-061-161). I gathered the accessories brochures (PDF) from the various VW sites in Europe (UK, Ireland, Germany, Belgium & Netherlands) to get a comprehensive list of part numbers so that I could order the accessories I wanted (floor mats, load mat etc.). You can also see pictures of the various bits. I was a bit bummed about the load mat, as the only one that extends to cover the full load area (including under the seats) is a stiff plastic one. I would have preferred rubber...

Nice work mate, the box is very similar to what I plan on making.

Lovely Cross Caddy!
I'm trying to convert mine normal one in a Cross Caddy look but I need an original Cross Caddy VIN to get the right parts.
Would you mind to inform your Cross Caddy VIN? Not sure if you can send by PM.

Built another set of drawers. This one replaces the back seat.
Caddy's a bit dusty, just came back from a road trip with a lot of dirt roads...

Re: Cross Caddy Camper Project
Got this tent a couple of months ago, but haven't gotten around to taking/posting a picture of it yet. The whole thing folds down to a size that would fit in a Polo boot, and can be built in as many configurations as you can imagine (poles are assembled out of 1m segments and can be placed anywhere).

This is the tent above, packed up and in the back (to give an idea of its folded size).

Re: Cross Caddy Camper Project
Ventilation is always an issue when camping in the back: how do you get good ventilation, prevent pilfering and keep out the mosquitos?
With the ventilation grilles that VW shows in the manual, but cannot provide. These ones are made by a company in Germany, and are actually better than the (plastic) VW ones, as they're made of metal. They take about a minute to fit or remove. The only downside is I think the VW one's are a small enough to be stored in the rear passenger floor compartment. These are a little bit too big for that.

Re: Cross Caddy Camper Project
Hi! I'm building my own bed-fornitures for the trunk.
I still have to finish, but besically the kit is composed by two wooden boxes, a small table and a aluminium frame.
