As mentioned a couple of days ago, I noticed in my photos that the standard cigarette lighter looked horrible. Not something I’d really ever thought of before but as I’m actively looking for things to do on my van just to keep myself busy I decided that today I’d try and smarten that area up.

Before, ugly!

I vaguely remembered buying a red illuminated 2xUSB port a couple of years back that never saw the light of day. After a short search around in the shed I managed to find it so I set about making it fit into the dash trim. Also trimmed the ashtray and surround in suede to match my other interior parts.

Has a cap on it to help it blend in when not in use.

Also trimmed my wind deflectors so the mirrors don’t hit them when they fold in. Another little job I’d bern meaning to do for about a year :)

I'm sure if you have a little peep under, your exhaust needs a fresh coat of blackberry!

All joking aside, having the same (in name only!) colour van, I know what a bugger it is to make look pretty...! Just when you think you've cracked it, you notice something else, from a different angle..... I still love the colour though, and yours really does put the other 10 year Old blackberry's in the shade!

It’s a labour of love mate that’s for sure. All seems pretty pointless as my van has done about 1 mile in the last 6 weeks :( I do have a job to go to in Reading this week though :)

My Blackberry Caddy

Post by Barbel330 »

Plenty going on. Busy couple of days. Good job I don’t need to drive it anytime soon as it’s stripped. I needed to remove the Bluetooth module, loom and microphone from my old RNS510 which entailed stripping the drivers seat out, half the dashboard, sill trim, bonnet release, A pillar, interior light. Also fitted the gps antenna, microphone and DAB aerial for my new head unit. Soldered the wire I previously had scotch locked from my W8 light. Removed my Phoenix Gold active under seat sub and wired in a new Pioneer mono amp for a new 12” sub which meant stripping out the passenger seat and all that side of the dash. Fitted the steering wheel control adaptors to the new head unit but need another part to finish that. Trimmed some more parts in suede but haven’t fitted everything back together yet.
