Got my touran 4 button slot tray today with new traction control button and I think I might have found a heated front screen button to fit as well
Image
Also the chrome door handles came but having looked at them and compared them to all the other buttons I don't like them as all the other things like heater controls and head light switch are brushed ally Image
So I'm going to return them as I have worked out I can remove the handles and for them into different backings so I'm Gona order a pair of MK 5 GT TDI ones as my golf has the brushed ally handles that will match.

The mk5 handles are a different shape, I don't think they'll fit.
You should have ordered the brushed finish Touran handles, they are the same part number with a different suffix. [WINKING FACE]

Well they don't seem to be a different shape as I just removed one from my mk5 to see if it would fit.
Yes the plastic surround is different but if u push out the pin u can easily remove the handle from the surround and fit it to the caddy one :)

Sweet, that's one for the list of cheap mods then.

Well lads. The date is set for the FACELIFT on my caddy.
It's going into the body shop on Sunday the 12th of next month. I'm taking it over then and getting most of the panels swapped over so that when they get to work on the Monday they will be able to crack on with the prep work.

My caddy build and face lift

Post by KenTDI140 »

I've decided to take the plunge and ordered the 2016 caddy life wing mirrors today complete with the fm arial that fits in the drivers door one I didn't go for the electric folding ones as I thought the price difference was a bit much.

So I've ordered heated electric positioning ones.
The only thing that was a bit of a pain was that you can't just order a complete mirror you have to order all the parts to make up the mirror separately.
Fingers crossed its all in stock and not back order.

Ps. DOC. When u get a spare few seconds would you mind moving this topic into the members rides section as I kind a feel this is in the wrong place now.

Yep and GPs separate aerials and I think the dab one goes in the passenger side mirror

Loving the work that you have put into this, a lot of well over my head but interesting all the same.

Really looking forward to seeing the headlights in, good work.

Cheers

Shouldn't have bought it really but I couldn't resist.
I found an old post on here about the motexion bulkheads so I have tracked down the agent in Wales and bought one. They now do them in the latest anthracite colour that vw now do the facelift caddy interiors in and they are supposed to be stronger than the std bulkheads. Also as its got a big single window in it that solves the Annoying visibility issue in the rear mirror. They also come carpeted on the passenger compartment side. Image
