M333SHJ build and slow progress.

Post by M333SHJ »

So I bought my caddy nearly a year ago now, and it looked abit like this:

Image

I haven't done a great deal to her. Lowered abit more and changed the head unit.
Now over the past (nearly) 12 months, she's had 4 sets of wheels, 2 of which were/are winters. Currently sat on some crummy 18" Audi 5 spoke things just cause they looked alright and they were cheap enough to ruin over winter Image

Image

But over the summer months she looked abit prettier Image

Image

So October last year I made a cracking purchase
https://vimeo.com/199585303

little on the pricey side, but finally had chance to get that in over the past couple of weekends. And now the front lays frame. Not 100% happy with the rear drop, but that's gonna be addressed over the next few weeks all being well.

Interior wise she was already carpeted out by one of the previous owners.

Passat CC front seats on modified rails and no under seat storage so the seat sits super low.
I fitted a 2016 caddy steering wheel (edit: I thought it was from a mk7 golf, Doc has since informed me otherwise) but I'm not really that happy with that, contemplating changing it but can't justify buying another one before selling this one.

Image

Along with an already converted touran front end, a smoother bumper on the front finishes that off nicely Image

Image

So now, come the 2017 plans. The air ride being the start of it.

Got a touran dash to go in once I've finished doing what I wanna do with that.. here's a sneaky preview of what theme might be happening Image

Image

But stay tuned, I'll try and get as many pictures as I can for the up and coming plans and things that might change.

And also for all your opinions and advice..
appreciate it Image.

Would love air ride. Looks really good.
The 'strictly static' sticker on the rear may have to be removed now though.

Serious machine lad. You can get a plastic bung to fit the hole if you remove the rear wiper shaft. Theres a forum on this somewhere with the size you need. It would tidy up the back nicely.

Looks well, those cc seats look great in it, had you to do much to the seat rails?

Cost me £2k bud, used. Fit it all myself with a good friend of mine.

I believe the base rails are from the caddy/touran, as far as I'm aware they were just redrilled in the correct places to allow for the CC rails. I didn't do this though, bought the van with them already fitted Image

But if a better view of them here, rear seats have now been sold on to a new owner though.

Yeah I saw you man! Off for a run down Sainsbury's straight Image. It's Marshall if you didn't already know ImageImage. Yeah, it's been on the cards for a while, just need to get round to sorting the build out now Image

So over the past couple of weeks, been messing around with different bits. Been to see Doc and made some purchases from him Image.

- Touran sport Bi-Xenon headlights, along with an upgraded CEM.
- Updated steering wheel module so now I have a horn! Get in.. road rage is back on!
- Highline instrument cluster too! Changing the colour of the LEDs though, blue needles on a white backlight, hopefully should look a little cleaner.

Ordered the wrong wheel speed/abs sensor the other day aswell (idiot) and along with an annoyingly squeaky alternator pulley, she'll be going in to see Matt at DubUnit Monday morning. So hopefully she'll be nice and healthy again. And then round to Docs again Tuesday to get some bits fitted and coded in! Excitement central over here..

I'm hoping to get some kind of build sorted for the air ride components. Ideally wanna try and muffle the compressor noise, anyone got any good ideas for something to sit them on? And aswell as this I wanna get some decent sound deadening to put below the boards they're sat on, and around the inside of the box, etc.

I'll take some pictures of my plans when I get round to doing it..

Would like some opinions on wheel colour, I've had a couple of photoshops done with the alphards. But I'm still not sure..
Image
Image
Whatever colour I have the wheels, I'll be having the tank painted the same. Which means it's kinda gotta tie in with the theme I'm going for.. both of these colours work. I'm just completely undecided.

If anyone is any good at photoshop too? Feel free to have a play around, here's the original and another.

But for now, enjoy these pictures of me supporting a local business Image

I personally like the alphards in the stock silver. It looks really slick on the white.
