Neither can I. Still a bit off being finished yet, but really looking forward to being able to drive it again.

House bound for a while but still managed to get a couple of bits done for when I start working on the van again.
Made an air duct as I thought the front edge of the air filter housing looked slightly un-finished, obviously it’s designed for a MK7 hood so the intake is different.
Also Nikki Twinsport finished updating and coding my new cluster, just need to swap over the front housing. Fully updated for the golden dots and new Caddy diagram; I especially like the text on the emergency phone page ImageImage.

Hello @Lister79, could you be so kind to share some details, what is the part number of the color 3D cluster, which you used for donor?

Toffee delights

Post by Lister79 »

Hi my latest cluster was made using 2 clusters; A SEAT Alhambra cluster part number 7N5920980C, which then had the hardware mod for the handbrake done and a full software update, and then the dial foils were taken from a face lift Scirroco cluster part number 1K8920975F. If you can find one, it’s a lot easier to just get a 3D cluster from a Scirroco but I gave up looking, plus following my engine conversion and due to the ECU’s I’ve used my van now has the MQB (AES) immo chip. This is the main reason I used the SEAT cluster as when I tried a basic Scirroco cluster it didn’t like the immo data.

Hello, thank you for the detailed answer! I have Skoda Yeti, on which I put 3D cluster from Tiguan, I am aware of the mod for switching between EPB and handbrake. I think my main problem with the Caddy will be, that it's CNG. The dials can be swapped easily, but don't know if SW for CNG car would be accepted by regular petrol or diesel cluster!

Sabbunsingh cheers mate.

judasfan I wouldn’t have thought it would be an issue but I’m not sure. Create a topic in the technical section and someone should be able to answer your question.

Managed to get some time on the van last night and today so started mocking up and fitting the management side of the suspension.

Front leader hoses installed, welded some brake pipe brackets to hold the bulkheads.

Image

Compressor and tank mounting plate mocked up, thanks to Doc for the suggestion of adding an air cooling ring, should help with water management. System will have 2 auto traps prior to tank entry and one manual trap on the valve block feed line.

Image

Valve block positioned, I’m aiming for a completely hidden setup.

Image

Also tried the air duct to see what it would look like.
