Re: Toffee delights
First off, might be the best caddy ive seen so far Was wondering, how does the black trim pieces hold up? Did you only use the plastic paint promoter and then black paint, or also clearcoat? sanded before hand? Would like to do this myself as well.

Hi mate, thanks for the comment.
Yeah the trims have held up well, they still look exactly the same as when I first done them, there’s no flaking, scuffs or other damage.
I rubbed them all down lightly using scotch pads (as I wanted to retain the factory grain pattern), cleaned them with alcohol then sprayed them with the adhesion promoter. The grey I built up very slowly with lots of really thin layers. I didn’t use a lacquer as I wanted them to look as close to the factory finish as possible.

Picked up the spare set of seats ready to drop off at Optimus Automotive trimmers next week. Really excited to be finally get the backs done to match the fronts.
Fingers crossed the wife doesn’t make me wait until my birthday to give me them once I get them back.

Wow, popped in to look at the rear seats, and got lost for 45mins! What a great thread, some real quality workmanship, and a cool OEM feel. Bravo sir.

Last bits for my R32 rear brakes arrived today. Can’t decide if I should leave them off for the time being, and make some brackets to fit Porsche Cayenne rears (dual caliper) or just fit them and be happy (obviously once cleaned up and repainted) decisions, decisions.

Trip up the road this morning to drop the rear seats off, so had to get a photo to mark the occasion .
They are going to be done in half leather with GTD fabric centres (to match the fronts), and while they are in bits I’m getting heated seat mats fit.
Also left a pair of armrests to be done in the same leather (for the front door cards).
Getting a nice little collection of jobs to do over the Christmas period now .

Photo overload this weekend. My eldest took these crackers, is it wrong that the kids are nearly becoming as obsessed with the van as I am
