Toffee delights
Been busy over the last few weeks trimming all the remaining plastic trims in suede, that’s every piece of hard plastic done now. Just about got everything refit apart from the centre console, but this can wait until my replacement armrest, gear gaiter and handbrake come from Optimus Automotive trimmers.
Front seats in
Wrapped pieces
Some of these were proper patience testers
Leather parts from Optimus Automotive trimmers, done in the same leather and thread as my seats (it annoyed me that the colour and grain didn’t match).

Re: Toffee delights
Cheers mate.
Yeah I have questioned if it was a wise decision numerous times. I’ll just have to buy a roll of that plastic carpet protector

Re: Toffee delights
Couldn't you coat the fabrics in Gtechniq i1 or Carbon Collective Repel or similar to protect them?

Re: Toffee delights
@Azz03, cheers mate. That’s not a bad idea, would certainly cut down on all the towels I go through.
@caddychris2002. Yeah I’ve ordered some Gyeon fabric coat, hopefully that will help, especially on the sill covers.
@stedlocks, cheers Pat

Lister79 honestly mate you smash the ball out the park every time you post about your van it’s nuts mate.
You can get a scotch guard spray my brother in law used to do it to protect suede sofas and never had any issues most stains would
Just roll off or just wipe away.

Re: Toffee delights
Thats a good call.....aldi (I know what you're thinking!) do a waterproof spray from time to time.....its decent enough, and I use it on certain bike bags I have that aren't meant to be waterproof...

Re: Toffee delights
Stedlocks I use a waterproof spray on most of my riding stuff I’ll spray my riding jersey night before to save me from getting soaking wet when riding and it does the job. If not I used to collect limited edition trainers and I would spray them all with a stuff called crep protect that works a treat. It’s in a purple and black can never failed me

@Azz03 & Stedlocks. I’ll have to buy gallons of the stuff and submerge the full van
@Jeffers76, cheers mate, I’m sure you will at some point mate. I’m hoping there will be another Caffeine and Machine meet on or something, if not Hef fest for sure.

Re: Toffee delights
Had a couple of hours free this evening so decided I’d make the cover for the bit where the wood floor meets the carpet. I had tried a few “off the shelf” trims but nothing looked right so decided just to buy some bits of wood and knock something up. Even though it was covered by the seats, it still melted my head everytime I took them out. I think it looks a heap better.

You sir, are a top fettler!
Get yourself on ebay, and I vest in an old, beechwood spokeshave......or a drawknife if you're feeling flush!
It is a pleasure to use, and you can smooth all those edges off without resorting to a sander.......i know, for a fact, you'd love using it too!
