Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
@sean that will be the best think to do. Enjoying it. AWDs have higher suspension therefore handle worse and pairing that with 250 horses wouldn't work in my view.
I was looking into lowering mine and so far didn't find anything easy or reliable nor to mention both. I have seen one here on the forum with custom suspension, 4WD and V6 if I am not mistaken.

Mine isnt a maxi buddy but i have converted it into 4wd and it sits very low and handles superb. I did have R32 and 2wd then stepped up to R36 with 300 plus bhp which was still ok for that power just about as its a nice gradual delivery. But i plan mote power at some stage and and the handling is outstanding now with independent suspension all round.

@hef you got a very nice one there. Fully custom suspension is a different game altogether. At least what I saw lowering kits generally advertise compatibility with 2WD only. (I think most would work just gotta be careful with how low you get)
I'd love to do some of these shenanigans with mine but changing engine or transmission is nearly impossible to legalize here.

Thanks for your kind words lads! 4wd is not as expensive to do as you may think especially if the donor car to convert the engine has a 4 motion haldex system with it. It’s just laborious and tedious work and being a bit handy with sheet metal and a welder helps. It’s also not fully customised suspension as my van looks totally oem at the rear using standard RS3 springs and uprated H&R shock absorbers just as any RS3, S3, A3 Quattro etc
My van also retains its original rear floor unlike some ‘cut and shut’ inserts which does not sit right with me and compromises the integrity and strength of the chassis in my opinion.
Great conversion to rid the Caddy of the unstable rear axle and leaf springs and it honestly handles like an RS3 now

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
I would have loved mine to have independent suspension as I'm not keen on the fixed axle and leaf spring setup I feel as though if I threw it into a corner I'd rip the rear axle off
But after the tree incident I think all modifications ro the van will stop I'm hoping I can get the roof sorted out though

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
I wouldn’t sell any parts of your donor car yet as you do know what you might need.
I thought I would be able to use my caddy rad and fans. but no so I had to by a new rad and a second hand fans of an Audi A3.
So my advice don’t sell until you know you don’t need it

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
Well today I got some information from the DVLA about my log book and why they are taking so long and why they have not changed it from a 1.6 diesel to a 3.2 VR6 petrol
Because I did it myself I now have to pay £150 for an inspection report
Well the guy is coming next week to do that so hopefully I will have it all done soon

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
Wow! That's a total bummer!
Their own website gives options...
Change of engine number or cylinder capacity (cc)
You need to provide either:
1. a receipt for the replacement engine
2. written evidence from the manufacturer
3. an inspection report provided for insurance purposes
4. written confirmation on headed paper from a garage (if the change took place before you bought the vehicle)
I'm going down the option 1 route, wonder if I'll get the same reply?

@C Chi’s
Did you get your engine from a garage with a receipt on headed paper.
I couldn’t get it on headed paper.

Hi Sean,
I bought the whole car from Copart so I have a dated receipt and the cars V5 in my name, fingers crossed that this should be sufficient!
