I’m getting a bit fed up constantly dodging potholes round my way, so I was on the lookout for some cheap, decent looking 18’s to try.... found these about 10 miles from me for £100



No curbing, but lacquer is rubbish. Offset is spot on (45) Audi reps... decent quality though.... I’m thinking a quick blast with plasti dip on the faces... then see what they’re like!

I thought they were a bargain!! Not nicked, the guy traded his A4 in for a BMW.... I wouldn’t buy knocked off gear....

They are very cheap for wheels with tyres on.
Just make sure the tyres has sufficient load rating for your caddy.

They are extra load, but will want changing anyway as I don’t know what they’ve been through!
I’ll put them on first when it stops raining, to see if I like the way they drive.... 225 40 18 tyres on it... would another size be better/more comfortable?
I like how light they feel as they’re not as wide or big as the current wheels.... that should make a difference.

Well, that’s decided!
The 18’s are staying on So much better... I don’t have to cringe if I hit a pothole, and it feels like the suspension is working!!



So, new tyres and tracking to get sorted..... then I’ve got a cunning, plastidip plan!!

Vans looking nice and shiny mate. I’m liking the wheels too.

I'm made up with the comfort levels.....it doesn't feel as 'planted' through the bends, but ill take that for not sh#####g myself every time there's a bump coming up too late to dodge!

I'm waiting for national tyres to open to get the new rubber fitted.....then, I'm waiting for some plastidip to arrive for an experiment!

After getting new tyres on my cheap Audi alloys, I set about making them a bit pretty...



Cleaned and rough lacquer flatted back...



Cleaned a bit more and bits of card stuffed in the lip...



After one coat (from four angles) of ‘Matt-pak full dip’ ...I’m thinking it’s shonky at the minute...



When the first coat had dried.... it’s looking a lot better now!

More updates when I’ve waited the allotted time!

Ha! Thanks guys, they’ll do as a ‘ten footer’ ! I’m just amazed at how plastidip has come on from the 2-3 colours I remember.... this is what they look like with one coat of bronze pearl...
