All sorted. If £39 is the price of my ineptitude then I can live with that and go away satisfied I’ve learned a lesson.

Sorry the eezibleed didn’t work. Maybe a pipe clamp or leaving calliper attached would be best next time

Don’t worry mate, I’m glad you gave me the idea. It would have worked absolutely fine if I’d have not been an idiot and connected it to a tyre that was inflated beyond 20psi.
The instructions clearly state not to do this! Absolutely no ones fault but mine fella

Swan’s caddy build

Post by the swan fiend »

Ordered some new tyres today, Dunlop Sprtmaxx RT2. I’m currently running 225/50/17s but I’ve ordered 225/45/17s as this takes the circumference nearer to that of the original 15” wheel and tyre. They’re getting fitted on Thursday.

I’ve also decided I want to lower the van a little more.....I’m on the STX kit at the moment on the lowest setting. I think I will be able to swap back to the original hangars, or maybe use the extra hole shown in the pic. Either way I’ll need axle relocation plates. I have some that I made (incase I originally needed them when I first had it lowered) but I’m not sure if they’re the right type for my van as is a 2011 which I believe is the borderline year.
I attempted to start this on my driveway today, but if I’m honest, I couldn’t be bothered rolling around underneath it for hours when I can get my garage to do it for me for (hopefully) little cost.

Here’s the plates I made a while back.

Today was new tyres day. All sorted though a couple of chips on my freshly painted calipers that I’m not happy about. I have some more paint I can use though, so it’s not the end of the world.
I also got a new battery as the old one was knackered.

Cheers mate, and to think I originally bought it as a cheap vehicle I would have to spend time worrying about!
The missus is cool with it actually. She said the other day it needs to be lowered more

@Stu, that’s a great plan. I’m going to do that......if it turns out I’m mistaken, you better be careful at the next Hef fest as I’ll tell her it was your idea!

@Hef, yeah she’s a diamond mate. She knew I’d start modding the van before I did
Top work on the 4WD conversion too mate
