Cheers mate.

They aren’t from another car, they’re made for the caddy. You can get them on eBay. I just bent them round my leg a little and then just pop them in.

I’ve fitted my new side rails today in anticipation of getting my covers and spoiler back from the paint shop.
I’ve decided on new rails vs tiger sealing the covers on in case they ever need removing one day. Plus IMO it’s the proper way to do it.

How much were the new rails @the swan fiend.

I’m desperate for side rail covers but never thought about doing the rails, what’s the difference between the original rails and the new ones ?

@jono1. Hi mate, the rails are £43 each plus VAT. That’s for the maxi.
The life rails have 2 little tabs on to allow the covers to lock in to.

As far as I’m aware, you can’t buy the tabs separately.

@Chris, cheers mate, looking forward to seeing the change myself. I always try and do everything to the best of my ability. Image

Swan’s caddy build

Post by C Chis »

Brilliant! Really nice to see the small, hidden parts being done properly!

The covers change the side of the van completely.

Some nice mods over the past few weeks

Swan’s caddy build

I only realised by reading people’s build threads myself. I went to my local VW van centre mate. 2 x rails and covers came to £222 inc VAT.

It’s a slow burner @handyandy. Once these bits are done, that’ll be it for a while. There’s always more I want to do though.
