Swan’s caddy build

I met with ViralEye and others today, he was kind enough to take me for a spin in his van to allow me to hear the difference between his and mine. Both vans are soundproofed, but his is far quieter and has no bulkhead. I’ve bought a roll of recycled bottle loft insulation, and stuffed it in every space I can find!!
I’ve also made some bits to cover the bulkhead where it’s usually mesh (mine is a solid maxi bulkhead) only because I had some MLV left over.ImageImageImage

Cheers mate. As I mentioned, it’s still noisier than I’d like. I had a little sit in the back before while my wife revved the engine and it does indeed seem quiet.
It’s doing my head in to be honest. I’m going to do the roof in the cab and both front doors and see where that takes me.

It's definitely worth doing the doors and roof also the back roof...

I’ve done the rear roof already mate. Not looking forward to dropping the front head liner though

Why don't you do the clear Perspex bulkhead panels in? I did this to mine, made a world of difference, and it improved the efficiency of the heater and air con 👍👍👍👍👍

@stickertone, mines a maxi mate, so it has a solid bulkhead. I just thought I’d add a bit of MLV to see if it made it any quieter......it doesn’t!

@ stevemaxi, thanks very much mate. It’s getting there.....ish!

So where is your noise coming from? Maybe add an extra doorseal?

I’m not sure it’s wind noise @YVG. I think more road rumble and tyre noise.

@viral eye, I bought the insulation on the way home!! Next step is can roof, doors and getting the winter tyres off!!
