This is the rear calipers and carriers after 2 coats. I’ll give them 1 more then leave them to dry. I’ve learned it takes 2 days for the paint to dry enough to the point where they can be handled. So I will refit them on Friday. I’ll be changing the fluid on Saturday.

Looks good bud! Just a quick question on the callipers tho,do the pistons on the callipers twist back in or are they a straight push in. Only reason is I’ve just ordered a full set all round.

Cheers mate. The fronts are straight push in, and the rears are twist in so you’ll need at tool for those.

Cheers Sean I haven’t fitted them yet. I’ve learned the paint takes 2 days to cure, so I’ll fit them Friday. Pictures to follow

I’ve re fitted my rear brakes today. Overall, I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out. I need to flush the system through with new fluid but I need my wife on brake pedal duties and she is working today. That’s going to be tomorrow’s job, then I can get it back on it’s wheels. Image

Glad to hear your wife is back at work, all well now?
Btw, not saying I’m glad she has to work :D

Paint job looks great! Have you tried a pressure bleed kit before?

Cheers gents.
@Papa Bear, yes she’s much better these days, still got a lingering cough but we’re thankful it wasn’t more serious.
She’s working from home so at least that’s better than commuting.

I’ve never tried a pressure bleed kit no, I’ve never done brakes on a car before, only bikes. I know it’s a lot quicker than doing it manually though.
How do you use them mate?

Glad to hear.

The one I had fitted in place of the master cylinder cap, had a bottle of fluid then attached to a car tyre valve. Go underneath and undo nipple, tighten when clear fluid comes through and Robert is your what not.

Cheers mate. I’ve just had a poke around and came across the Gunson kit in a how to video. It looks alright actually!
Cheers for the help mate
