CarPlay is now working aswell was some dodgey wiring or the usb socket.

So just waiting on my mk4 centre console to arrive and then I can see if I can make it work

Right have I started a new trend for people pissed off without having somewhere for your phone to sit?

Mk4 gear surround in a mk3, requires some Modification as all the mounts match up but are at slightly different angles,

I do have the gear gator aswell just haven’t changed that yet.

Only issue now is I don’t get the sensor overlay, but I believe that’s cause mines an older park module?

So it looks like I’m going to have to upgrade that to the newer one?

Alright mate tbh I’d been pretty lazy but seeing this notification made me get my arse into gear and get it sorted,

Image

Housing is right on the edge but had to with the camera I got unfortunately,

Image

Image

That’s the only hole I had to drill, through the body work and handle, could of probably been abit smaller but hey ho.

Image

As you can see from the old to new I’ve removed one bolt and cut the hole for the camera itself.

Image

I had to sikaflex a nut to the back of the camera and housing, going to beef it out more today, but even with what littles on there it’s not moving,

The way I’ve done this the camera and housing is the last bolt which also stops the camera being removed without being inside the van.

I’m sure someone with 3d / cad capabilities could 3d print a housing with nut in it for the camera to make it more factory finish though

Hi mate, great project thread. Have you got a golf/scirocco r wheel fitted now? Could you let me know which bits are needed for a mk3 (2013 model) to get airbag and buttons working?

Nice work! I was wondering if a mk4 center console would fit a mk3, and it seems like it did! thats on my to-do list aswell. Already have one laying around for it.
I love those clocks you fitted, i might have missed it in the thread, but what is it out of?
