@robblowen your build look awesome, might have to steal your idea for the roof lights, was thinking of running LED around the edges but I do like the look of the inverted island, nice work

I've not had much time recently for the van, but I managed to get a few little jobs done today. First gave it a well needed bath and then got around to fitting the 2WD and Caddy2k decals I've had sitting around forever!!!

Hopefully get some more bits done this week, I've still got the rear windows to tint, bcm to change, stan's footwell lights to fit, wheel arches to fit, stalks and mfsw to swap.ImageImageImageImage

Managed to strip both sets of stalks today to delete the trip buttons off the wiper stalk, then fitted my MFSW. Had a brief 10 minute panic, thinking I'd fucked something up when my wipers/washers wouldn't work! Plugged the laptop in to test the stalk outputs, everything was correct. Started to get really confused until Irealised I was staring at my bonnet. Which was still up from disconnecting and reconnecting the battery! Image Everything working as it should and the new wheel feels so much better than the original!!!

Also got the passenger door part of my footwell lighting loom. Hopefully get the rest of it fitted and working next week!Image

Nice work mate! I didn't like this particular steering wheel initially but it is growing on me. Well they did use it in Passat too up to B7.

@sewi cheers mate, I can't justify anything Gucci as the van spends a lot of time in the hills, climbing, walking, biking, etc. So gets abused a bit. Needed an upgrade to the standard thin plastic thing though!

Ordered some mk4 tinted tail lights from LLLPARTS. They came this morning, so following @Doc brilliant write up it took all of 20 minutes to remove the old lights, repin the plugs, fit the new lights and test everything works! Spot on write up, cheers doc. Looks so much better than standard! Just need to get the bottom bar and reverse error light coded now and I'll be happy!Image

Managed to get my towbar fitted and the rear part of the wiring fed through in the rear right cavity. Just need to finish running the wiring in now. Also removed, wire brushed and copper greased the spare wheel carrier bolts while the rear bumper was off.ImageImageImageImageImage

@robblowen

What year Caddy do you have and what year touran matting did you get? Did you have to make any adjustments to it?

@Afterthesend mines a 2014, I'm pretty sure any Touran from 05-15 will fit, but its a long time since I had to think about it so double check. Definitely 10-15 does. No adjustments needed mate, they just drop straight in.

Hi Rob,

Sorry me again. Do you have the part number for that backet? Also do you have any images of the seat belt configuration?

absolutely fantastic build thread couple of questions

what size battery did you put in the rear wheel arch section fantastic idea to hide it out the way

also don't suppose you have the part number for the seat mounting bracket is that the proper part for the caddy so you dont need to modify the touran bracket
2017 caddy black edition
2016 caddy startline
2011 british gas blue maxi
seem to have a caddy problem and its all i seem to work on

If you mean for the rear seats I'm pretty sure it's the proper front bracket to fit the OEM maxi life/maxi crew cab seats only. If you have touran seats you have to use the brackets cut from the donor touran.
