Still not 100%! Converting to a mini camper, but I need it all to be kind of modular, so I can take stuff out when I don't need it. I've got the 2nd row seats and belts from a maxi life, picking up the floor beam from tps tomorrow.

Then it'll be sound deadening
Insulation
Boarded
Carpet
Spot lights
Sockets
Small leisure battery
Split charge kit
Removable kitchen pod
Removable bed

Plus it definitely needs tarting up, I like the look of some of the touran interior stuff, and it needs new wheels and a lower ride height. We'll see what time and money allow!

I'll get some photos up when I get that far mate, spent all week working out how to mount my maxi life seats, just managed to source the cross member from tps at a really good price.

Looking at making a frame out of aly box section, then some rails that will be fastened along the sides of the van. Planning on making it in 3 sections that will stack up above the kitchen pod, or 1 section can be propped/fastened upright to make a nice bench seat at the back doors.

Tagging this for future inspiration - I've been thinking of a modular removable camper build myself, so keen to see your take on it

I'd be interested to see how easy it is to fit the rear seats too. Found plenty of local ex-BG vans around but never come across a kombi version and would def need the rear seats for the kids..

So bit of an up date, I managed to find the replacement beam that the front brackets fasten to, about £50 from TPS. So today's job was to weld that in place, drill the bed for the rear brackets, fit the brackets and spreader plates.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Few pictures of the spreader plates I knocked up for the seat brackets, 4mm stainless plate cut to 50mm x 50mm. Silicon between the plates and underside to make sure I don't get any corrosion.ImageImage

Also sound deadened to side walls and roof, plus put a layer of thermo roll over the top of that. Even though only half the vans done it makes a massive difference when driving!ImageImageImage

Looking good, I'm considering a caddy camper like yourself. Thinking if it's possible the have a permanent 3/4 rock n roll bad in the back with removable touran 2nd seats too so it'll be a 7 seater. Thinking of a custom removable kitchen unit down one side with twin hob and sink with all the water/waste and gas locker within the unit. It's all pipe dreams ATM

@Cy Russ cheers man, sounds good. I don't envy you trying to fit it all in! I converted a t5 a couple of years ago, rock'n'roll bed and units down the side and the caddy side walls aren't as far apart and taper in quite a bit more at the top! Be good to see it when it's done if you get it the way you want though, can't be many caddys about fully kitted out like that!
