C2K VW - Edition 300

Post by R22LRM »

Hi all,

Ive been a follower of the forum for many years and copier of many an idea! So I thought it was about time I joined in and shared my van with everyone, far from finished yet as the wish list just keeps growing.

This is my 2nd Caddy, the first started as an odd job van as we were renovating a house back in 2010. The mrs wrote our mk5 Golf GT sport off and the caddy naturally inherited a few parts (and yes it was the mrs). From memory it inherited seats, 19" BBS reps, steering wheel, stereo. I also put some V Max coilers on it.

So after someone offered me silly money for the first caddy and we had finished the house around 2013 I let it go as she had been to the moon and back.

We then moved house in Jan 2017 so I thought id get another to help with all the odd jobs again. I bought one that had quite a bit already done to it as I know how expensive modding can be and hoping I might just leave it as it was. The van was colour coded, with roof bars and side bars, DRL lights in front bumper, Front & rear splitters, Mk7 gti front seats, Audi TT vents, Cheapo coilers, Mk6 gti steering wheel steering wheel, caddy life rear seat, 19" 3DSM 003 alloys, Clifford G5 alarm etc etc

Heres some pictures of the van when I first got it:

First thing was the plate to come off.

I then got some suitable tyres fitted to my genuine forged 20" audi rotars from my old A6 Bi turbo. I remember the lads at the tyre garage I go to laughing at me, saying they will never fit on that van, there far to big. Well they did and there still on today. Good thing about them being genuine forged wheels is they are really well made and balance so ride is surprisingly not to bad.

Thanks pal, should of got my arse in gear a good while ago, everyone on here so helpful and have such passion for caddy's. Not really one for all the social media stuff, turning into a bit of a technophobe in my old age lol

After finishing the house renovations in 2017 I was left with a van that was starting to look a bit shabby around the edges. So I got my mate to sort out a re-spray in candy white. I changed the bumpers to a mk7 gti front and mk4 rear, S5 blades, touran wings, added a 3" CAT back R32 style SS exhaust, changed suspension to Bilstein Coilovers front, Gaz now on the rear, changed breaks to Brembo 6pots front & R32 rears with HEL lines, smoothed rear tailgate etctetc

Few shots of work in progress at the body shop:

Cheers pal, it’s suprisingly not a bad drive even though it’s on 20’s and coils, prob coz their genuine ones and good quality coils. Saying that I bet if I went down to 18s and meaty tyres comfort and handling would improve massively 👍
