Hello! No, it's not exactly a straight swap, but it's not very difficult to do this retrofit. First you'll have to trim a little bit the headliner in order to fit the Passat interior light, then you'll need an adapter loom because the pin order is different and you have an extra wire for the button illumination and red ambient lights. The adapter you can buy it or make it yourself. You have to run also a wire from the light switch along the A pilar an connect it to the Passat interior light to that extra wire I said earlier.

As an update regarding my van I managed to soundproof the bonet. First I applied the sound deadening and after I mounted the bonet insulation, new offcourse.
I didn't drove it to much thanks to this forced "holiday" so I don't know if it's quieter but for sure doesn't sound anymore like an empty bucket when I close the bonetImageImageImageImage

Finally I managed to install the door warning lights with VW logo, I only had some red plastics, the door handle illumination and also applied some acoustic foam on the inside of the door cards.
About the door handle illumination, I have to find a method to cover the outer part of the LED so I can't see the light directly.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

@maxthecaddy thanks mate!Image It's still work in progresImage
I bought also some Touran bases with storage compartments. I complete disassembly, fixed some rust issues and gave the a good clean and put them back together. Now I'm waiting for a good opportunity to mount them on the CaddyImageImageImage

Thanks @Glen G. It's still work in progress . No, fitting the lights wasn't such a hard job, but took me a little bit of time. If I would do them a second time would be much faster.

I bought a Skoda BLS engine cover at a very good price (almost 4 times cheaper that a VW one) and I gave it a little bit of love. I painted the central piece in silver metalic paint, colored the TDI letters , mounted a VW badge ( I wasn't so lucky just to remove the Skoda badge and find the VW one under, like on the new modelsImageImage), insulated the underside and used some plastic restorer for the exterior piece. I'm pretty happy with the result.....
Now I have also less noise coming from the engine.....ImageImageImageImage

That engine cover looks brilliant. Did you separate the silver section before painting or have you just made a really good job of masking it?

Thanks mateπŸ‘! The engine cover is made from 2 separated pieces, at least for BLS engines, so painting was really easy :D . I think on the newer models the cover is in one piece.

Thanks @C Chis Image.
I continued the sound deadening with the doors. I've done already the door cards, like I mentioned in a previous post, but now I had to do the inside of the door and the inner door panel. Doing this for the first time, I had a little bit of struggle removing the inner panels but I succeded in the end.
Now having 3 layers of sound deadening, there is a noticeable difference when I close the doors but also a better quality of the sound inside the cabin. ImageImageImageImageImage

@maxthecaddy thanks mate. Go for it, totally worth it.
@bertiebasher I'm very pleased with it, I would choose an Android unit over an OEM one at any time. It has almost everything you want, bluetooth, WIFI, USB, MicroSD, GPS, CD, touchscreen, you can install any app from Playstore, it's piece of cake to connect a front/rear camera, or DVR, and comunicates with the car via CAN so I have also dynamic trajectory when I back up, no coding was needed. You have various info , like when you open a door, or bonnet, seatbelt warning, speed, RPM, battery voltage ,etc. You can connect an USB dongle to have 4G internet or Carplay/ Android Auto or mirrorlink via USB, you name it, the list is long .
But if you buy one, don't buy a really cheap one because the quallity is not so good. You can find on Aliexpress a good one from 200€ and above.
