Any update on the rubbing of the inner arches? I'm currently doing my own head in with this problem! I've got a SWB Life and I'm on the highest setting on the darkside flip kit. I've come to the conclusion that the Life twin leaf springs must be softer than the standard panel van single leaf ones. I'm almost ready to buy a set of the singles but I don't want to sacrifice too much ride quality!

Hi @Marcmcq90
Ever since I put on the OZ wheels with the 225/40/18’s on, I’ve had no rubbing at all. Still have the ABS/Traction alarms, but haven’t had time to get it booked in to have a look at the sensors. I think the damage was done with the 19’s on, but certainly then changing to 18’s and caused through running 245/40/18 tyres on them 🤔😩 my bad 😞

That's some good news then at least!

I'm running 18” ET45 wheels with 225/40/18 tyres and when I'm carrying one adult in the back with some luggage I get rubbing on the arch liners at the back when going over humps in the road of when taking bends in the road at speed. It's driving me mad! Currently on the highest setting on the rear adjusters. I'm thinking about maybe trying to reshape the liners a touch with a heat gun to see if that helps a bit.

Do you think it would be worth me trying some GAZ adjustable dampers on the rear to try and stiffen it up a touch?

They’re from RK Designs, I’ve got them too, they’re excellent and the local body shop I used said they were well made and easy to paint & fit.

Hi @Mitch H
Thank you
Exactly as @Mark1a said
My body shop were a bit wary when I turned up with this shortish looking parcel, as the skirts come in two pieces :D but they said it was a pretty easy job, and I MUCH prefer them to side bars mate ;)

Well !!!
I see I haven't posted since November :D Van went over to France with us at Christmas, lovely drive, all told about 1100 miles covered and never missed a beat. It's pretty much been garaged/parked up on drive since the end of January, and not done any miles on her, but with summer approaching and the MOT due on 23/05/23...Tomorrow !!
Now, dear wifey booked it in a couple of weeks back, for a service and MOT at a local VW independent, as wouldn't trust the local VW Van Centre as far as I could spit.
Anyway, I'm working away, and It's gone in, she told me it was horrible to drive to the garage, and I assumed it was maybe discs/brakes from not doing any miles, but garage has just called, and said both front springs have broken, so no MOT, and he would rather not work on a customised Van  it won't go on his ramp etc. etc.
I have contacted a transport company up here, and they can drive to Kent on Wednesday to collect, and bring it up here to me. (£££ haven't got a price yet  )
So my question is....and it's the $64,000 dollar question.
What do I do next ? I wanted some honest opinions. Either way, I'm into this for some serious cash I suspect, so do I just get a new set of coil overs ?? recommendations will be greatly received as I'm guessing we're talking £600-£1100 depending on brand ?. Or do I go back to standard struts, and put some Eibach's on her ??
PS : Rear is still flipped with Whiteline ARB rear bar, Wobble blocks fitted and GAZ adjustable rear shocks, photos back a couple of pages
Thanking you in advance for your thoughts/advice
Cheers
Dave

I think your caddy will lose a lot of its aesthetics if you were to go with a standard strut on lowering springs.
Personally I'd go down the route of replacing the coilovers for similar.

What brand coilover is on there that has failed?

If you can get ST suspension for fronts only I’d go with that. I’ve got it on mine and it drives great. When it was remapped, the bloke who did it said the same.
