Re: Let the build begin
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread.. as a "soon to be" caddy owner its really useful that you've taken the time to show the upgrades / tweaks and learning you've had!
I've already watched some items on ebay and have adjusted what I am looking for a in a van now!!
Thanks so much for taking the time.

Re: Let the build begin
Hey, thanks buddy. for taking the time to have a read through my build thread and even better if my tweaks have helped inspire you in your quest for a van and to make some changes to to it when it arrives!
I did the same as you after I bought my van, read through a few of the build threads and "how to's" on here, caught the Caddy bug and started using the ideas and information on this fantastic forum to help make the old van a nicer place to spend time in!

Re: Let the build begin
Out with the not so old and in with the new…
Swapped out my Stance+ coil overs and back to the high life
What a difference… not clunking, not scraping over the pavement into my drive, no ( occasional) drive shaft clunking (my bad set up, hate adjusting drop links!)
Bit of a gap, however happy with it for now, saving for some air ride to make my life smoother and easier
Holding off until after my engine upgrade to see how the van sits with the Audi subframe, suspension and brakes.

Re: Let the build begin
Tracked down a climatronic panel with heated seat buttons to replace the rather tatty one I had in the lock up.
Just waiting on garage/ramp space to fit it along with a few other bits.

Cheers buddy and thanks for taking the time to have a read through!
Should be starting the conversion early February now that I think I have all the parts, just waiting on my mate clearing a bit of space on the ramp for me.

Re: Let the build begin continues with VR6 heart transplant
Today was a good day…
Last fill from the black Diesel pump…
Fluids and gas recovered from the Quattro and front end removed
Subframe, suspension, front dative shafts, steering rack and exhausts removed
Prop shaft prepped for removal tomorrow
Pile of bits in the corner of the garage is starting mount up!
Engine and gearbox to remove tomorrow along with all the wiring and any useable/saleable parts
Pretty tired now… first hard days work I’ve done in a long time

Re: Let the build begin continues with VR6 heart transplant
Cheers!
Yeah, delayed start due too... Pandemic, long delivery times, severed nerves in my hand, blood clots following the operation to reattached said nerves and then an early Christmas present of a dose of Covid 19 on the day I was due to receive my booster!
However, It's 2022 and the year is going well so far!
