Re: Let the build begin
Washer fluid low level switch and headlight washers installed today
I removed the water reservoir to make it easier to do the cutouts
Level switch and pump cutouts done and sealing grommets fitted
Switch, pump and reservoir refitted to my van
Wiring all taped up with waterproof loom tape and secured to the correct brackets, I’m a fan of keeping it looking OEM whenever possible!
Purple/white wire along with the pump wires being pulled through the bulkhead
And finally... thanks to the brilliant “how to” on here I now have a low washer fluid level warning light all coded in and working

Re: Let the build begin
Retrofitted low beam HID’s this afternoon.
55W stealth reflector kit with built in glare/dazzle reduction for the main beams.
Only installed the low beam ones, waiting on the correct holder coming for the high beams and I’ll swap everything over to my custom Touran lights.
Beam pattern is pretty much spot on and the light output is a little higher
Ps... the plant pot has been used as a crash barrier, stopped my van colliding with the garage when the handbrake released a little as the brakes cooled and the van rolled forward overnight!

Headlight washers? Hmmmm
Do they just spray when you spray the windscreen?
I have the level sensor but it will have to wait.
Top jobs done as usual, putting me to shame

Re: Let the build begin
Hey Papa Bear cheers and great to hear from you!
The headlight washers come on when the lights are on and you pull the windscreen washer stalk. Not wired in or coded yet, waiting on a set of Touran Xenons (rarer than hen’s teeth) and the modules to do do an OEM retrofit.
Just treading water with small tweaks until I do something with the engine!
The washer level mod is a bumper off job, so I waited until I had a couple of jobs needing the bumper removed.
Good to see you’re getting stuck in about renovating your new house, exciting times! The van will be there when you’re ready to start mod’ing again!

Re: Let the build begin
How much are touran xenon?
Fit pre facelift front end?
Where do the headlamp washer jets fit?
Need a new front bumper really, mine is crazed. Body shop recommended a new one. Do I save up and get a hybrid one maybe
Then when fitting I can do mods behind.
House renovation is killing me, let’s hope I get back to Caddy work soon

Touran, pre facelift, bi-xenon lights, modules and wiring, about £60 from the scrapyard or about £300 from EBay, jikes!
I could be waiting a while!
Headlight washers were already factory fitted to the Touran bumper I bought a while back, didn’t get the pump with the bumper.
Save up and get a nice hybrid bumper, it’ll suit your van

Re: Let the build begin
You do like spending my money lol
So the lights wouldn’t fit mine being a facelift?
And won’t have headlamp washer jets.
Oh well, 2 off my list

They’d fit, just not sure how road legal they would be and if you’d need a levelling system as well as the ability to wash?
Always happy to help spend other people’s cash

Re: Let the build begin
Cheers, it is rather nice!
Shifts very quick and smooth, however, not tried it out in anger yet, heading offroad tomorrow for a couple of hours and I'll see how it performs!
My P7 and my Caddy are my two money pits!

Small upgrade on the hardtail.... that AXS stuff is drool worthy, but I'd be bricking it about the batteries running out. Health to rife fella - enjoyed checking the build thread too

Re: Let the build begin
themtbphysio hi buddy, welcome to the forum and Caddy Life!
Thanks for taking the time to read through my build, much appreciated!
I’m supposed to get about 20 hours on a charge, here’s hoping! The sram app lets you know when the battery is getting low and I’m waiting on a spare battery arriving for my backpack, just in case
The only gripe I have is the shifter paddle lever rocker thingy, feels wrong so going to upgrade back to standard style shifter levers
The app also monitors your gear changes and time in each gear, geeky or what!
Off out again tomorrow for some fun on some nearby trails in Stirling.

Re: Let the build begin
Can I add, having read through the enitre build thread I have a couple of things -
My list of mods has grown
My jealousy has grown
I'm like to take a vote on Chris being banned because of above.
That is all, as you were
