Let the build begin
“Are these interior running lights? So they are on all the time?”
IainH91 hi buddy, I tried this one as there were a lot in the breakers yard, however, the wiring is quite different and it’s not a straight forward wire in and fit. That’s when I went for the larger light console with the glasses holder, the wiring is pretty much the same as the Caddy.
The red LED’s come on with the slide/headlights and are fully dimmable
Ps... best not to quote or cut and paste a whole post with lots of pictures as it gobbles up server space.

Thanks for the reply.
Is it just one wire to wire it in? Golf plus, I’ll have a google to find one. I would like a standard look at the wiring and interior running lights are a must!

Re: Let the build begin
Yeah, standard wiring plus the extra wire for the red LED’s there’s also compartments for the OEM alarm sensors and microphone for the standard hands free kit.
Remember and get the complete console including the black mounting that’s attached to the donor cars roof lining as it helps hold the console in along with the bonding agent!

Re: Let the build begin
Thank you. Did you just splice the wiring where the original lighting is?
What is the wire you have run?

Re: Let the build begin
I extended the original wiring and repinned to match the light console. The extra wire goes down to the light switch or the CECM/BCM to power the LED’s

Re: Let the build begin
@MortenS hi buddy, if you mean the side sliding rail cover and rail, then I got the cover from Ebay and the rail with the mounts from the scrapyard, however if you have a friendly TPS warehouse near you you'll be able to get them direct from there.
Bike holder came from Amazon, search for powerfly

Re: Let the build begin
MOT on Thursday, time to change the lower wishbone bolts that were an advisory from last time.
Bolts took a little time to arrive from Germany....

Re: Let the build begin
What was the advice on the last MOT?
Seems a bit harsh to condemn a bolt that looks fine in the photo.

Re: Let the build begin
These were the advisories
I changed the wishbones, bushes, struts, hubs, brakes, shields, drop links a few weeks ago as the front suspension was pretty badly corroded (likely from being on the Isle of Mull and the salt spray) and was waiting on new bolts arriving, all the other advisories have been done too.

Re: Let the build begin
This wont be the bolt, it will be the bush or ball joint? But then you think the MOT would say ball joint.

Let the build begin
You’d think so, however I think the MOT comments are standard/generic ones.
I’ve replaced the lot, wishbones, bushes, bolts, hubs, coil overs, drop links, bottom ball joints and abs sensors as they were all quite badly corroded (there’s images further back in my build thread above)
The left bolt in the above image shows a fair bit of wear coupled with the worn bushes meant the wishbone was a bit loose pretty much full new front end suspension, drives really well now
