Seat fitting was put on temporary hold as found an awful lot of water in the passenger footwell. Best I can see so far is it’s a few failed (and missing) grommets, so waiting on delivery of them.

Back to the rear seats, with the brackets welded in and everything primed it was time to fit the all the trim.

Typically the trim arrived in just one big bag and it was like doing a giant jigsaw )granted it was a fairly easy one) with only a vague idea of the final image.

Next is too take the seats back out, these quick release style seats are brilliant! and give everything a good bloody clean.

A note for next time. Don’t leave it all in the shed to go mouldy!

Next up is to modify the original trim so the new stuff can fit properly and so it doesn’t stick into the foot wells and then paint it all so it matches. (Or carpet/rubber mat. Undecided)

Fitted my new headlights and air con panel, just needs re gassing and should be good to go.

Now the carpet has fully dried out and I have (I think) sorted the leak I’ve sound deadened the passenger footwell and started to put everything back. Image

Been really busy with work so only been able to give it a quick clean and polish, although have ordered some b pillar covers, as well as a cover for the arm rest and handbrake.

Hope to carpet the van out this weekend now the stretch carpet has arrived.

Took down the W8 Passat light and prepped, primed and sprayed it black this evening. Also carpeted the headlining and shelf in the cab with some black carpet. Plan to do most of the trim in too. Very pleased with it. :DImage

Also added some blue LEDs under the driver and passenger seats to light up the rear footwell (wired them into the rear courtesy lights)
