Hers the various stages of the rear bumper. I wanted something that was similar to the golf gti.

But the ones I’d seen just didn’t look right, and I wanted the bumper to try and follow the lines of the side sills.

I’d also intended to keep the bumper reflectors but I just couldn’t get it to look right so ended up filing the holes.

I’d say it’s about 80% there just needed the van built up before I commit to having it stayed

Great build thread love the different looks of the van and the lower rear bumper defo looks better.

Love how you used the Milwaukee boxes for the air to be out the way and on show.

On the front fine, the rears are a tad tight

Haven’t done any updates for a while but been busy, so the OZ’s are on 215/35/19 fronts and 225/35/19 rear.

After staring at golf front ends looking to make mine a bit different I decided the GTI front end was the one......

Image

Got a pair of mk7.5gti headlights and took them apart Image

Image

Had a test fit to see if the angles were going to work

Image

Pair of Depo touran headlights, a pretty headlight to start with. So took that apart aswell

Image

Test fitting the DRL into the lens needed a fair bit of shaving down

Image

Pile of morimoto goodness, that pile ended up being 3 times the size

Image

The DRL’s light up at last

Image

Beam testing the projectors took a fair bit of jogging to get this right. The golf headlights sit a lot flatter as the nose is shallower, so this involved some thinking. I didn’t want the DRL to effect the headlight function, fortunately the projector beam is more concentrated so when bought forward in the housing cleared the DRL

Wow that front end looks amazing. Love the gti bumper.

Looks like my gti from the front and would never know it's a caddy.

Amazing work.

Headlights are something else, I love them.
What looks like hours and hours of work really pain off for you on them.
The whole lot really does look great.

Wow, that's a bit of commitment to take two sets of headlights apart and create something else. Nice work, they do look good.
