Re: Marts Caddy
I see you have a little bit of work with this Caddy
Why did you choose to paint the springs with the brush? I think the paint sprayer would be a better option. Or at least a rattle can spray paint.
Good luck with your build mate!

Re: Marts Caddy
I had a tin of hammerrite paint mate just though it would be easier to just paint it on with a brush. Can go straight to metal aswell so saves having to rub them down get them in primer etc.
Cheers Gta still a long way to go

Ripley55: Cheers mate still along way to go yet but getting there for sure!
Bobby: Picked up a set of these, will need a refurb before fitting which is the plan to do this weekend . Hopefully get the new paint flat and polished aswell if all goes to plan!
They match the alloys Iāve got on my TT shown below

Re: Marts Caddy
R1lea, normal TT but have done loads on it there is a build thread on another forum but not sure if Iām aloud to link another forum in?
Has had tts front bumper
Ttrs rear bumper with rs miltek exhaust set up
The list goes on, you end up thinking it would of been cheaper to just buy a TTS. But whereās the fun in that
Back to the caddy Iāve been offered Heated leather seats from a 2012 golf gti. I assume I would need the Touran bases for these to fit in?
Havenāt got full access to the forum yet but have seen a lot of people say thatās the way forward with it?

Re: Marts Caddy
Touran bases are simpler, but raise the seats up a bit, so depends how tall you are? You can redrill your bases easy enough, I believe, although I haven't done it myself!
I've got the same wheels in 18" on my blackberry..... I refurbed them myself in plastidip! Came out a treat, was really easy, and the finish looks like paint.....bronze pearl metallic gloss! From Mat-pack.
Straight fir seats are from smaller VAG cars...ive got Audi A1 S-Line half leather....bolt straight in, and height adjustable
Are you near Harlow then?

Re: Marts Caddy
Could have a new plan with the caddy.
A friend has smashed up his golf gti 2.0 tfsi 2012
Heās offered me the engine for a bargain price of Ā£500! It would be the later tfsi engine. Think the engine code is ccz.
Said I can take whatever I want off the vehicle aswell to make the conversion work.
Iāve done abit of research on here and the web. Looks like the hardest part of this conversion comes down to the electrics.
Would the easiest way to tackle this be changing over all the the parts from the golf to the caddy. Would the dash go into the caddy maybe with modifications?
So basically removing a large chunk of the caddy wiring loom and just using the golf loom.
I havenāt got full access to the forum yet being a new member (request has been put in to lift this restriction) so cant search to deep into this on here. Do we have any members who have tackled this and been successful?
Cheers guys
