Just on the rear as part of the conversion.

Now I can drive it, I'm off to see if I can recycle some of the parts for a full set up...if not then a new kit all round

Hitting the road at last?
Interesting to see the differences with the headlining etc to my earlier version

Not long now, sorting insurance out this evening so the plod better be ready for my mighty 1.4 tomorrow!

Hopefully the headliner and interior is all being changed up soon.

The plan is to carpet the floor area in the wheelchair channel (which I'm sure I will regret when it belting it down and I have no traction on my wheelchair) and the surrounding black trims which have all been scratched up with the previous owner getting in and out.
Then trim the A/B/C/D pillars, rear window surrounds and headliner in alcantara.

It has a side exit exhaust too which was modified to suit the ramp in the rear and it's hanging horrendously low so that is high up on the list of jobs which need doing too.

Great looking van, seem quite rare these as well, being a SWB. Good luck.

A small (& mainly disinteresting) update today.

The rear of the car was also modified to allow a wheelchair user to sit behind the driver so have seatbelts and bits dotted around the place.

Removed all of these today to start prepping panels which will be retrimmed.

Still not got round to having my Air Suspension looked at as we are still in lockdown here Image but slowly gathering more parts for the build.

Alltrack Arches arrived today.

Need to get a few more bits before it heads to the body shop, namely new bumpers.

Waiting on a gtikris front end and still debating rear due to the ramp cut out.

Blanking screws for the roof rail delete also arrived so will get that done over the weekend.

Image

Keep having to put off my trip to see Plush about the air ride but fingers crossed will get over to see them within a couple of weeks.

Roof rail delete done this afternoon. Painted the blanking screws but removing the rails I saw some flaked paint underneath so when it eventually goes to the body shop I’ll get these welded up and blown in.

Need to polish out the paint around where the rails sat but another job ticked off the list.

Wheels & Suspension next!

Kris dropped off my Touran R bumper earlier today.

Image

Hopefully he can work his magic on my rear bumper too which is split in to 3 sections.

Another job ticked off the list today.

Fitted the Kenwood DMX8020DABS. Really nice unit and I mainly picked it due to the capacitive touch screen and wireless Apple CarPlay.

Fitting kit was from SCR which maintained MFSW controls.

Mounted the GPS antenna and mic in the cubby tray on top of the dash for now until the headliner and other trim gets sorted at which point I’ll reroute them.
