E8OMB’s Caddy build - 1.9tdi

Hi

I’m a car dealer from Devon and wanted a caddy to run to and from work with my 2 dogs. A good friend of mine George has done several caddy conversions
Including a v6 4wd build in 2015 (from an A3 I supplied) and I had always wanted to do my own!

Here’s my build which is already quite involved and made a sizeable dent in my bank balance!

So I bought a 2009 Caddy 1.9 TDI Bls 104, colour coded in grey with electric windows, 1 owner from new and full service history. Very clean van had it delivered to me from BCA blackbushe.

This is how it arrived.. it went straight in to the workshop for coilovers, Rotiform BLQ’s and golf R seats

After this I was happy and thought I was done with modifying and I had my perfect work hack!

I ended up meeting a retrimmer who happened to be very local one day while selling him a Bentley I had in stock, I had a deal which has included a retrim on my caddy.. with anything I wanted!

The car in question

That was 4 weeks ago and we’ve become friends popping in to see each other a few times a week and my interior is nearly done, this is what I went for:

Nappa leather front seats, real suede dark blue centres with double Bentley stitching and golf R Alcantara inlays replaced with vw tartan.

Door cars in tartan with suede arm
Rests,

pillar trims, rear arch boxes, Touran centre console, sun visors, and all front plastics covered in nappa leather with blue stitching.

Front headling in tartan with tray in Alcantara with blue stitching, rear roof liner in Alcantara and again blue stitching.

A few pics of progress so far

Huge thanks to prestige automotive in Highbridge, Somerset his work has been second to none.

I have since ordered a carpeted motextion bulkhead and sorted Touran carpets with heater pipes to run heating/cooling to the dogs in the rear.

Led interior light with map lights, Gti golf pedals, black grab handles etc have all been ordered along with Golf R mk7 wheel with black inlays and 3D colour instrument cluster with blue needles. I will make a post once these have been fitted

So while I’m waiting for the interior to be finished I have the caddy shipped off to the spray inn, Crowcombe where forum member Georgehockin owns to have the following done to the body:

Mk4 rear bumper, colour coded rear handle, spoiler fitted. Privacy glass in rear doors instead of tinted heated glass.

Facelift front end, travelin lite Del headlamps, gloss black grills and fog surrounds, auto light switch, edition 30 side strips (now I have the part number!), caddy life mirrors and mk4 side repeaters. Front and rear cameras.

This is how it currently looks.. Image

Nice build mate.
Only noticed that your bottom plate in this picture is fitted upside down ;)
If you haven't rectified it yet, my friendly advice would be to fit it as it should be before you run into some troubles...

Lovely thanks for the advice regarding the spring plate.

With the headlamps they plugged straight in with no errors of course you can only fit them to your 08 if you have done the 11-15 facelift.
