Engine bay insulation - Christ that’s big money for what it is haha

Surely it won’t stop in cabin noise. Most of that will be through the bulkhead.

Check ebay/google first, then if you can't find anything sensible - email your local VW. 👍

The sound deadening & insulation in the rear cab made the biggest difference for general road noise.
The undertray, engine cover & bonnet insulation all made minor incremental improvements to dampen the engine noise.

I am going to insulate the doors too, they rattle so much when you shut them!

Need to fit a bulkhead and insulate the rear too. Already done a camper conversion so will do the dome process in the back for this.

£85 wow! Big money for something you do see haha

Undertray you wouldn’t think would help with noise, but make sense to stop noise bouncing up and into the bulkhead.

Plus it stops dirty and crap hitting the engine.

You lose a lot of seat room with a factory bulkhead fitted.
I'm about 6,1 and I just couldn't get a comfortable driving position.

The undertray mostly helps with engine noise when you're stationary, at a set of lights or something.

I am 6ft2 and can’t get comfortable at the moment without having the seat high enough over the lip,

But I don’t like having the van open. Only if I could borrow s bulkhead and try haha

Finally colour-coded the rear & side trims!
Next is to fit the alltrack upper grille, and gloss black the lowers.

Also fitted front & rear mud flaps but I'll likely be removing them if all goes to plan in a month so.

Saw a decent set of front & rear carpets, including the compartments, up for a good price so thought why not.. before even looking at the faff required to fit them.

Definitely dont regret it now though!

Still on the warpath for silence, fitted the 'life' secondary door seals today;
2K0 837 702 - Driver Side
2K0 837 701 - Passenger Side
(Item .9 on the diagram)

Haven't had a road test yet but I can hear the vacuum as I open/shut the doors so it's at least causing a tighter seal 👌

Do those secondary seals make a big difference?

I've seen a lot of people do it to improve the door shutting sound, which it kinda does - it sounds 'heavier' and less tinny.. if that bothers you?

I mainly did it in an attempt to further reduce road/wind noise, which it also kinda does.
I think it's now quieter at <50mph, but at ~70mph the loudest noise is still the whistle from the dumbo wing mirrors.

Thanks for the interest, I don't actually have anymore pictures and it's currently pissing down outside so I can't take another
If you click on this photo it will take you to the full resolution image, you can then zoom in to see the route along the bottom of the door.

Caddy life models have the extra door seals as standard.
