So I bought a stock black caddy with the colour coded front and rear bumpers back at the end of March. The caddy had 178,000KM on it. The main things I wanted to do to it were, new seats, something with the lights (hated the stock super yellow/orange headlights) and ply line the rear.ImageImage

First simple upgrade to do was change out the old worn gear stick with something clean. Just ordered a cheap one from Ebay, was a bit disappointing that the resin bit on the top was cracked during shipping. Still on the look out for something a bit higher end looking. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.ImageImage

Where did you get the gear knob and gaiter from?

The gear knob and gaiter are one complete piece. I bought mine off of Ebay. Just searched for 2008 caddy gear knob.

You could go for the Golf 6 or 7 GTI models if you want a high end look ;)

The next addition to the cockpit was the revamp the steering wheel. I didn't want to go for a GTI wheel as I'm not gone on the look of them.

What I did do was buy an Alcantara cover on ebay that you stitch on yourself. Theres a bit of work in stitching it on, but it's well worth it. I've been driving with it for a few months now and it's fantastic (Especially on cold mornings)

I then got my friend to carbon wrap the 3 soft rubber pieces on the wheel and also the centre ring around the VW logo.Image

Later model Polo gear sticks work well too and usually cheaper to come across than Golf Mk6/7 ones.

Fitted one to mine and it's made a huge improvement.

You'll need to swap the base over from the gaitor though. It's simple enough to do though.
