As much as they are lovely to look at I think its time for one or two to go. Definitely could do with room in the garage and extra cash could easily fund a few new additions to the Caddy. One of my first race bikes was an SE Quad Angle, mid 90's.

Any pictures of the seats @Cgiorgi , do you mind me asking what you paid for them?
The sound deadening I used is in a post earlier in the thread, its from a place called car builders in Victoria, they have quite a few distributors though so theres probably one local to you. Prices were quite reasonable and the product is good quality, I sourced the carpet locally though just to save on the shipping cost. As for hours I've put in, not exactly sure, quite a lot though. Sound deadening was the best part of 10-14 hours, takes ages to cut around the wheel wells and line inside the rear panels. Carpeting, cutting the timber for the floor and windows and the suede headliner was 3-4 days, not full days but still plenty of hours. I went a little over board though on the sound deadening(SD), the roof and floor are now four layers thick. roof has SD sheets, original headliner, 6mm foam and suede. Floor is 12mm Acoustic sound absorbing foam, 9mm marine ply, 6mm foam and carpet. I made the floor in 2 pieces so its removable, that way I can pull it out to clean plus if I want to carry anything dirty or heavy then it can go directly onto the original metal floor and not wreck the carpet. I would like to maybe show the van one day so I took my time with everything, plus this was my first time doing most of this stuff so was learning along the way.

I'd happily have put my original one on show, but have no desire to buy a new one since I'll never ride it! Self control does exist haha!

Seats were $750+$250 freight, VW said they have a van coming next month with most the specs I was after, so gives me time to get all my parts :D

Great work on the van mate!! And loving the bike!!

Is the ply floor secured down with anything? Or does gravity just keep it in place?

Iā€™m currently sound deadening mine and having pulled up the original ply flooring Iā€™m not sure how to re-secure once carpeted.

Cheers šŸ‘šŸ¼

@Rigguz Thanks mate, can't wait to get the next few things done but finding spare time has not been easy!
I've made the floor in 2 pieces and I wanted it fully removable quickly. So I took my time (a good hour or more!!) to trim the timber to fit very snug, now with the carpet and foam layers it stays without the need for fixings no problem. DM (or just post it if your comfortable) me your email address and I can send you some pictures if you like.

Oh and good news on the potential van @Cgiorgi

Hey all, been busy getting a few things done on the van, haven't taken any pictures yet but they're coming.
Need some advice, I'm hoping @fishynos72 , @Giddy might be able to shed some light on what this Ficosa antenna is that was inside my mirror.
I've fitted my Life mirrors but the left was missing this plug and antenna. I've pulled it out of the original mirror and connected it all up, just not put it inside the Life mirror cap yet. Radio seems to work fine as does the gps so I think all is well, still just want to know what it does though! ImageImage

@Giddy cheers mate, was my assumption too, just stuck it in behind the door trim for now and gps worked as normal. Will fit it in the cap once they go in for paint.

The above is correct, GPS or maybe DAB radio antenna if your vehicle has that option.

Been bloody ages between updates but have been working steadily to tick items off the to do list.

Since my last pics:

Fitted Life Mirrors and had the caps painted gloss black.
Fitted Life Trim and wrapped in carbon
Fitted TRC lowline kit
Had the grill inserts and flood light surround painted gloss black (were originally black abs plastic, matte finish)
Debadged rear and added Wolfsburg badge (forgot to take a photo of that)

Here are some photos to show how things have progressed.

Looks so good.

What was the method for the carbon dash inserts in the end?

@fishynos72 Thanks mate, I'm chuffed! Just need to do an exhaust and tune so it sounds as sweet as it looks. Have you worked with that side if things at all? I saw the APR logo on your shirt in your vids so thought you might be a good person to ask...
For now it's just 5D carbon wrap. Really want to have a go at doing a single layer of real carbon fibre and resin but am worried I'll ruin the part so still unsure if I'll go that way.

I've been lucky enough to experience a few tuning companies now.

Apr do make diesel tunes, they don't openly advertise it much due to America's rejection of diesel lately. I wouldn't count on Apr doing a tune for your caddy, mainly because they didn't get the modern caddy.

My choice for my own caddy will be TVS. They've a long affiliation with VW tech and products. They're not showy like American based companies, and they allow you to ask for specific requirements. I highly endorse the quality and refinement level of their tunes and I am not paid to say that, for instance I will be paying retail for my own tune.
Just my 2c. I'm sure everyone here would have just as strong of an opinion.

Feel free to PM me if you've more specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer/ find you answers.
