MK4 Startline

Post by bxnlxung »

Hi guys,

I've recently purchased a MK4 Startline https://imgur.com/a/OMNvefX, I'll be documenting my modifications here.

Plans so far are;
Carpet the rear
Find/build an MTB storage solution to go in the back
Upgrade the interior; MFSW, gear knob and seats
Retrofit cruise control

I've just finished carpeting half of the load area https://imgur.com/a/ZF5Iac5 :D

Looks good, how did you get on with finding a gear knob? Iv been trying to find what is compatible from VW bit had no luck, mines the bland grey 5 speed stock one and doesn’t look great haha.

I was debating this yesterday. Decided to take some inspo from (can't remember name) the grey caddy on the main page. He fit a golf GTi Mk6 gear knob and it looked quite smart. He had to do some stitching with fishing line though.

Have a look at my build thread to see what I did for the MTB solution… Found a website now where you can order the aluminium extrusion already cut to length 👍🏻
