And did a test fit of my new MK7 golf front bumper.
I have a set of wheel arch covers which will need to be adapted to fit the new bumper as well which I hope to do tomorrow.Image

I also finished plastic welding and did the first fill with U-Pol SMC on the touran wing mirrors that I have been working on during the week. I went the adapter plate route and they came up good and strong.

Lovely build dude
May I ask what the ‘adapter plate’ route is with the mirrors?

Because the touran mirrors arnt a direct fit, some people cut the mounting off the original mirror and new mirror, then bond the old mount to the new mirror. Others fit adapter plates to the new mirrors which have threads that match the holes in the door. I made my own plates but you can buy them here: https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic? ... source=app

Test fitted the Tailgate spoiler which I got from Vanstyle which is really bad. Didn't fit well at all. Sits on the van all wrong and has big gaps. I cut away a section on the bottom and got it to sit a lot better but it's still not great. Will need a lot of work.ImageImage

I haven't been able to find a nice touran center console so I got a Armster armrest. Quite happy with it although it's a bit narrow and would have been good if it was grey not black Image

Been doing quite a lot of work on my Caddy the past few weeks in my spare time.
I covered the back of the van with cling wrap and fibreglassed it to get the shape right for the rear spoiler. Turned out good. Then I had to make heaps of cuts in the spoiler to get it sitting the correct height and shape to match. Then I was able to fibreglass that to the rest of the spoiler. Added some upol fill. Cling wrapped the back of the van again and applied some fill to the spoiler then while still soft pressed it onto the van to get a tight fit.

Another rainy day project has been to strip down all the cabin electrics with backlights and changing out the Red LEDs for Blue ones.ImageImageImageImageImage

Today I installed a golf gear knob, found one with a blue ring. It's a 6 Speed one but for know im not too concerned. I cut the staples off the boot from the golf mount. Then carefully removed the staples from the caddy mount and reused them to attach the new boot. Came out good. Found I had to cut 30mm off the height of the gear stick. Filed a flat on the shaft and crimped of the new gear knob. Looks great. ImageImageImage

I also found a cigarette port with a blue light/ring to swap out the ugly orange one. It had a different connector so I carefully straightened the crimped end in the caddy connector and recrimped it into the new port.Image

Nice mods mate👍 I love the colour, I wish I had the same one, but I'll have to stick to silver😁
The shift knob doesn't sit now higher than the original one? From what I see, I think is the model with a space between the knob itself and the silver part right?

Thanks.
Yes that's the knob.
The length of the knob is about the same as the original one but the hole inside is 30mm shorter. So I cut down the length of the shifter shaft by 30mm. I then has to lengthen the locating flat on the shaft which I filed. So now the knob sits at the same height as the original.
