Then for the first bit of carpet. The creases were from the carpet being folded in the box and I didn't manage to get enough glue on the inside so will be re-doing it

Re: 2021-Lockdown-Project-Maxi-Life
The next task is to fill the gaps on the floor and edge it after the flooring is in and to try and make a box for the wheel arches....This is something I don't look forward to as my enthusiasm far out weighs my skill level

The next thing to do was the boxing of the wheel arches and the ply in place of the rear side panels. I decided to make my own to save some money, the ply was £12 per sheet.

The handles were recycled from the ramp and attached onto the rear tailgate so the storage under the floor could be accessed.
A little bit of hammerite for the screws is all that is needed.

Next was the roof carpeting. This could have gone better....I felt like I needed two pairs of hands :-)
Still the edges where the glue hasn't taken will be covered with the designs I have for the 30cm x 36cm recesses.

The boxing is carpeted and the edging for it will be sprayed a wine red to add some colour. The beige panels at the top rear will be sprayed black and the basket holders wine red also.

Are you using the right stuff? Doesn't look like it's a 4-way stretch carpet

Interestingly the top trims in the rear are able to be vinyl wrapped which is a bit different. So you can create your own designs. The 1m printable material is £85 but an option

Re: 2021-Lockdown-Project-Maxi-Life
What are you planning on doing with the ramp section? Is there room for storage or something underneath?

I have the underneath as storage yeah, the handles pull down and gives access. It's really handy.

HI dragon world,
The conversion looks great. I've just started converting my caddy maxi life. just wondering if you glued or screwed your ply floor down and are the boxed over the wheel arches screwed in also?
Keep posting updates,
BW

Re: 2021-Lockdown-Project-Maxi-Life
Hi DragonWorld,
I've been looking through the forums for some sound deadening/thermal insulation and the Dodo stuff seems to crop up quite regularly. Given that yours has been in a while now, how would you rate it?
I'm looking to line some/most of the rear of a maxi but I'm going to be limited to walls and roof as the floor will have dog crates and an area for the dog to just sit. There is currently the ex-BG rubber floor mat so I think the floor is ok, and is probably the best solution for a quite chompy German Shephard.
From looking at the way the dodo is bonded to the panels I guess it's unlikely she'd be able to start chomping and pull much off especially as she'd be spotted in a few seconds and told to stop
But the main goal is to try to stop heat transfer from outside, and also to cut down on the booming we get driving on the lumpy country roads around here.
Would be very appreciative of any advice you've got.
Cheers
