Second Day

I was looking for a way to gain as much space as I could and to have clean lines all the way through. Keeping the side panels was an option but I am really glad I took them out. I was really suprised at how easy they could be removed. I also removed the outer carpet so I can sound deaden the floor and sides. People have used dodo for it, so will give that a go.

Next was the ramp.........This wasn't a job I should have left till last on the day!!

So I thought (wrongly) that the ramp could be removed, and after much head scratching realised that the bumper / hydrolics and ramp were one unit.

The idea was to cut the ramp and have all the hyrdolics being used to make the storage door for under the floor. It looks crude now but with some work it could be a good solution and look quite good.

All the sticky glue removed from the left and right recess.

I am now wondering what to do with the sides :?

Good luck on the project, will be watching with a keen eye for when I start with mine.

I am pondering about removing the rear trim or not as well. You mention the rear trim comes off quite easily, is it all still reusable that it could be refitted after a bit extra insulating & sound deadening?

@caddy4life - Thank you mate. I plan to start the lining this weekend all being well so fingers crossed wih that.

The trims will go on very easily. You may break a few clips taking it off (which I hear is common) but I got lucky and had them in tact. I will be keeping mine off now I have seen the space it saves. I will be ordering some 3.6mm ply for the roof today.

Let me know how you get on.

I need to get into the rear trim to kill an alarm that goes off every time I release the wheelchair seat belt strap on mine. Any tips on how to pop it off would be gratefully received

Hi @Eyteyek.

There are panel popping kits you can use. I didn't have one when I started and gently eased off the panel and it came off no problem keeping all the poppers in tact

Thanks @DragonWorld, it's probably an inevitability that I'll want to do more rooting around at some point so will pick up a kit

Hi @DragonWorld, my kit arrived today and I went for an Easter Seat Belt Hunt this afternoon... success! The seat belt was still in there intact! Thanks for your help Image

The installation of the dodo mat - I have to say that it did make a huge difference

Then the rear tailgate - I was unsure whether to carpet it or paint it, so tried painting it first to see what it looked like. TBH it's not bad in person, the light in this pic makes it look worse that it is
