So here she is, my very first Caddy. I’ve done a few bits and pieces here and there so far with help from previous forum posts (thank you)!!
I’ll get to posting the upgrades I’ve made soon but for now here’s a picture of her. She’s not quite as tidy as she looks in this photo and definitely a little tired in places but bags of potential I think!
Heading for a van I can use in 5 seater, van and camper mode with a few quick changes. Already loving the journey and can’t wait to make more changes!

Re: NEWBIE - Caddy Maxi Build / Mod Thread
Here’s where I’m at.
Started by stripping out the rear interior to get a good look at available space and start planning for the removable camper elements. Managed to get all the wiring etc disconnected without any hassle.
I’ll probably utilise the old ramp space for additional storage under the plywood floor. The split bumper has gone so it doesn’t look like the pull out drawer is a realistic option for me.
I’m going to insulate and carpet the back of the van but will need to make up some plywood covers for the sides which I’ll carpet separately. I think the rest of the trim (headlining etc) will stay in but will be carpeted too for a nicer finish. It looks like there’s a piece of metalwork back from the wheel arch that I’ll have to cut out though??
Next it was original speakers out. Managed to get the doors cards off and back on using previous posts I’d found on the forum (thank you).
Doors deadened with DodoMat and new door subs & tweeters fitted. I cannot recommend Skipton Car Radio enough. (Another one from the forum) thanks. Didn’t get photos before I put the door cards back on!
I was keen to smarten up the inside of the van as it looked a little tired and basic.
Added aluminium rings to the AC vents, AC controls and light controls.
Pioneer head unit also added!
Reverse cam next. Trying to work out what’s the priority after that. Loving it though!
