So I picked this little gem up on Saturday morning:




Few bits already ordered:

Mk 5/6 GTI seats:






Seats obviously need some work, but have a guy who can retrim them for me, or at least sort the bolster out.

I've ordered the following list of bits too:

LED headlight bulbs.
LED rear bulbs.
Black carpet trim for rear.
Touran seat rails.

Exciting getting a new vehicle to mess around with - had a lease vehicle for the last 12 months so have been limited to what I can do to it.

Will be updated as regularly as possible.

Seats are now in my possession.

Does anyone have a good upholsterer? Just need that drivers side bolster sorting.

Managed to add the following bits:

LED Main / Dipped beam.
LED tail lights - full set.

Been considering a stage 1 map for it too. Place local will apparently map to get some good increase for £100.

Looking at sound deadening stuff too - trip to Scotland from Yorkshire and I was nearly deaf when I got back lol.

Office in heckmondwike (dewsbury pretty much), and I live in Barnsley. You local?

I’ve spoken to a couple of guys local to the office about the upholstery - £120 to sort it out which I didn’t think was bad.

Im in 'ull also with you saying about remaps it may be worth giving dark side developments a call as they're on your doorstep

Couple of updates for you all:

Debadged (no photo as it was raining when I finished),
Private plate on,
Seat booked in at upholsterers for couple of weeks,
Spoken to Carlton tuning (on my doorstep) they can remap for £100 (on offer at the moment) so will likely take it there ....Darkside are good, but I think they're pricey in comparison.

Lovely base for a few mods.

Will be following progress with interest.

So had the van mapped yesterday. Holy sh1t what a difference!!

100x more responsive on throttle, and generally drives much nicer. Very happy.

Had it done at Carlton Tuning in Barnsley - £100 and done while you wait usually - took an hour and half ish to download the current map, modify it and reupload.

Been looking for ideas on getting light / power into the back - anyone any suggestions?

Just dropped off the drivers seat with a local upholsterer. Hopefully have that back in a week / 10 days.

Just need to get some Touran bases now - does anyone have any for sale?

Relatively easy update for this, managed to get the drivers side door sound deadened ready for the new Focal speakers up front:





Also managed to get the tweeter pods mounted in the sail panels - ready for filler and sorting this week:



New Android head unit in and working:



And stripped the rear end ready for sound deadening and carpetting:
