2017 Caddy Mini camper conversion.

Post by ScottyLaff »

Hi All,

Currently converting my 2017 caddy into a mini camper due to all the travel restrictions abroad! Looking at heading to the NC500 up Scotland and Wales also. Started off with a few subtle mods but recently gone all out with coilovers, 19s, front splitter, full colour coded and rail cover, smoked LED side repeaters, rear wiper removal and blank, blacked out VW Badges front and rear. Spent the past weekend sound deadening, insulating and carpeting the rear of the van. Next job will be the flooring and then a low side out bed from Van Furniture in Thetford!

If anyone’s got any recommendation for flooring that would be great!

Cheers for looking!

Scott

great work so far mate! I'm currently in the process of making a day van/ single camping pod for the back of my caddy life. I've been taking photos throughout so I'll sick them on my build thread when I'm done.

Good luck doing the NC500 with coilovers!

I did it in my old T6 which was only dropped 60mm and had a fair few scrapes along the way!

Some of the single track roads can be a mare in a lowered van.

Great trip though!

Nice wheels mate I’ve have the same on my van. what off set are yours . Do they rub?

Nice job on the back of it . I used coin mat for the floor of my van I bonded the plywood down to the body then stuck the rubber coin mat to the plywood . Got it on Amazon think it was £30 which was miles for doing the back of it still had a little left over.

Enjoy the NC500 mate. I’m planning on doing it next year. I’m hoping to head up the bealach na ba for the day before the weather turns.

Hey mate, Cheers!

Not sure on offset to be honest, no rubbing that ive noticed so far! I just finished the rear with some of the puzzle gym matt flooring! highly recommend!

Hoping to get over to Wales before the weather fades out!

@Caddy Stu82
I've been warned multiple times Hoping it will be ok though, I haven't had much issues around my local area so far, and there is some nasty roads/pot holes/speed bumps etc! Fingers crossed!!!!!
