Not sure if this post belongs here but it is technically a build! So I bought this caddy last week and rather than fill it with tools straight off the bat I’ve been working with the bare minimum so I can keep the van empty.
During the week I re-lined the sides using some 3mm hardboard as the original ply was pretty rough.
The plan is to buy a couple of van vault sliders and have the weight relatively evenly distributed. Then build racking up one side! Not too sure if I’m going to build racking across the off side door yet and have it accessible from both sides. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
So here’s the progress so far. I’ve still got some wood to go under the false floor so the van vault drawer will open without fouling that annoying little hump across the back doors and I need to trim the lip at the back to the correct height. I know chipboard isn’t ideal but I’m on a budget and I think it will do the job. The plan long term is to fit some rubber flooring too.

Re: Racking the van out!
Scribing the sides in was a pain but was happy with the end result. I was unaware that the back section of wood must have been unsquare when I was marking it out but like I said it’s all getting covered up!!

@Guy94 Thanks mate. Think ply will be a better idea for the actual racking despite the cost. Bad time of year to start pouring money in to these things lol
