Jon's Caddy DSG........................
Just thought i'd start a little thread on my progress so far.................
Back in may i took delivery of a 300 mile on the clock "58" reg DSG Caddy with appearance pack, leccy pack, a/c and obviously the lovely gearbox option
Added some Porsche 997 turbo mats, had to trim the drivers side a bit though.
Shortly after that came the plylining and racking, window grills, Parrot CK3200 and filled it with all my equipment. (no pics at the mo of these)
I then decided to paint the side mouldings as they looked odd not being colour coded like the rest of the van. Havent done the rear handle yet though as i don't have the right torques bit to remove it but will be done by the end of the week
Then on friday i dropped it off to have all my signwriting applied and i am so chuffed with the end result!
I think it needs to come lower now with some bigger wheels to compliment the car going over my rear wheels........
Would love to hear everyone's opinions good or bad..........
Cheers, Jon.

Very tasty vinyl work there, love the car part at the back.
Big rims will set it off nicely.

Van looks sweet mate. If you're not gonna put the rear wiper back on, take the motor out as well and sneak a reversing camera into the hole.

Cool idea but for now i've disconnected the wiper motor and fitted the wiper arm in this position so it doesnt block anything.myloyams wrote:Van looks sweet mate. If you're not gonna put the rear wiper back on, take the motor out as well and sneak a reversing camera into the hole.
Looks better than having that bit sticking out

... yes but over time you will see where it wipes as when you reverse when you have your wipers on it auto wipes,
you will need to pull the power out to stop it doing this

Like i say mate i have already disconnected the motor, not only to save the vinyl but also with the wiper in that position it would swing downwards towards the number plates31teg wrote:... yes but over time you will see where it wipes as when you reverse when you have your wipers on it auto wipes,

Yes for aesthetics but not good for security as all someone has to do is pop out the gromit and underneath the hole is the lock mechanisms31teg wrote:ahhhh i missed that bit, shoudl remove it and bang a gromit in

Re: Silver "Scratch Care" Caddy DSG.
why dont you get the likes of a wiper delete blanking plate like for mk4 golf sure it would be about the same size hole and once it is in get your signwritter to cover it by redoing the last it of that r u have if ppl cant see it then most likely not realise that the wiper used to be there

They're meant to fit into a rear window though not bodywork?aidy310 wrote:why dont you get the likes of a wiper delete blanking plate like for mk4 golf sure it would be about the same size hole and once it is in get your signwritter to cover it by redoing the last it of that r u have if ppl cant see it then most likely not realise that the wiper used to be there
The rear handle is now painted as well, haven't got round to taking a pic though.
