So the Caddy is back from APS with all the updates. Suspension has been dialled in, brakes are on and working, downpipe has been mated to existing pipework, remap done and now it flies! Today I tried to get a load of jobs done and they all fought me!

I test fitted the seats only to discover the seat buckle mounting won't work with the standard Caddy part so off to Caffyns parts dept to order a pair of MK5 Golf buckles which will be in tomorrow.



Then I fitted the APR Carbonio intake. This isn't really about making power, more tidying up the engine bay and adding a bit of induction noise.



First impressions weren't great! You have to start the vehicle, and leave it with no accelerator inputs for 10mins so the ecu can adapt. It started slowly and idled roughly, with a big cloud of smoke. Left it for 10 mins and then took it out for a run. By the time I had come home, it seemed to have learnt and drove well. No massive difference other than a bit more induction noise and more of a whistle from the turbo, plus you can hear air dumping from somewhere although its not as obnoxious as the sound from a dump valve you might get on a Imprezza. Have to see how it performs and if its actually worth keeping on.

A little interior update was next. Fitted a new leather handbrake sleeve and silver button. Subtle but its all these things which will add up in the end.

She is looking great mate. I had same issue with my seat buckles with the audi a5 seats. But I found if you fitted them to rear of the bracket instead of original location it cleared and I've fitted caddy life centre consol too. Not much room lol. But all fits ok. Love the seats you have there.

The Recaros are for the Golf 5 though as they don't do a Caddy mounting so the buckle mounts under the seat frame like the Golf instead of into it. I'll post up pics so everyone can use the info in the future as its handy to know these things!

Hi mate very impressed with the build so far, like all the other forum members can't wait to see it done, I'm looking for a part number chassis number to allow me to order a arch set for my van I'm going to get it in shop for bumpers but decided to wait till I can get the arch extensions done at same time
Thanks in advaance my local dealer isn't right helpfully without a chassis or english reg when ordering

Hi Dan, just have to say amazing caddy. The air dump as you said it is just the air running back through the new air box, its from the turbo shutting off and then pushing it back out. It did it all the time on my edition30. I kind of liked it.

the filter lets in more air only improves sound but also let more dirt into the engine ...

I doubt the massive cone air filter will let any more dirt into the engine than the OE airbox but its something I can occasionally check by taking it apart.

After an eventful run last night where I managed to get the van into limp mode (I believe the Revo map might need adjusting as the overboost threshold is too low but I was giving it a load of stick!) I had success today getting the seats mounted.

These are the MK5 Golf buckles I had to buy as the Caddy ones mount side on into the frame of the seats whereas these as you can see mount under the frame.





The VW bolts needed shaving down a bit to fit though as they protruded passed the Recaro frame, but nothing a trusty Dremel and a metal filing bit couldn't handle!



Just a quick pic as haven't given the interior a proper clean yet.




Part numbers for handbrake sleeves:

1T0 711 461 A Leather + colour code from below. All are about £80
E74 - black
LMD - black/red
KMY - black/flannel grey
BDD - black/orange

I think the aluminium look button is:

1T0 711 333 3Q7

and they're about £4.
