New caddy project starting soon

Post by V6wrx »

Well I'm picking my caddy up next week my first one. :D
Got a couple of mods in mind lowering, new wheels, colour coding, remap.
What make suspension are you guys using? Any good company's which are good to deal with for aftermarket parts?

Kw form reflex. We can't use v max because rear leaf springs are different to the old caddys.

Reflex have told me that new caddys have different rear leaf spring shackles So you can't use vmaxx. Mine is brand new. So dont know if that makes a difference. I ad vmaxx on my2007 caddy tdi. And did 60000 miles on the vmaxx with no probs at all. But ride is a little crashey

what i had on the rear leaf springs on my caddy from 2013.
is that the center point is fixed on the leaf spring compared to the older ones where it is a bolt that you can turn and use
again as center point with to lowered shackels.

I've got KW V1 kit and Reflex axle relocation plate on my 2011 so it shouldn't be an issue on the new Caddy's.

This is true as I found out on my 62 plate caddy. The peg on the leaf springs is part of the leaf and not removable like the earlier ones.
This is fine with the kw/eibach shackles as they come with a collar that reduced the hole size the lowest shackle plate and then located on the peg on the bottom of the leaf.
Not sure when they changed them but my leaf part number is 2k5 511 151 AA
Can I also just add that we are not saying all facelift Caddys (as we have fitted Vmaxx and axle plates to loads) but all New Caddys as in 2013 until we find out when VW decided to change them ;)

Oh and back to the original post, you should be fine with an 11 plate but be quick because we have sold all our 55mm vmaxx kits and they are saying no more until August so it might be worth checking around ;)

Well seats have been fitted, and all carpet lining is done :)

Lining made a massive difference to the van with the sound proofing, cut the road noise out.
