Ian's DSG

Post by Combine82 »

After the remap and RNS510 etc I saved up the rest of the bits to do in one sitting. An old school mate has a workshop down in fowey and he does paint, cue a 600 mile trip south this week as he let me use his ramp etc to fit the bits he painted. Quite a busy day! Touran front with fogs, 2 new wings, colour coded handles, smooth back bumper and roof spoiler. Also did a CV boot while it was in the air. And a set of scirocco turbines to finish

Ferry? His place is on the mainland. Was a slow trip back with masking tape on the spoilers as we should have done them first but didn't and wanted the tiger seal to go off!

To get to Fowey when I'm visiting family there's a car ferry across the water to save the 45 min drive around the water

I get it now. He lives in fowey but the workshop is in Par. When you're driving down from Aberdeen nowhere is a detour really!!

These bits were done just before the big trip. OEM rain sensor and screen, highline dash courtesy of space walker. Golf mk5 SE seats and touran bases. Also finally fitted the correct steering controller for my MFSW so I no longer have to disable the steering assist. No pictures of that

Well, it was drive in, lots of tea, a few other jobs on other cars, a pasty run, an emergency TPS trip for clips and a front badge, more tea, chip shop run, waiting for glue to go off and 12 hours later drive out. Those 18s were brand new came balanced and inflated... To 50 psi! I thought all the new bits were going to fall off with every bump, no idea why they would be sent at the max pressure. Had to pay 50p at an air machine after I left to let 12psi out of them, surely the machine should have given me the money as I gave them air?
