Retrofit OEM (factory option) cargo net?
When ordering a new Caddy, there is an option (3CB) for having a cargo net fitted/supplied. The cargo net has mounting points which are blanked off in a Caddy that is not shipped with the cargo net.
Does anyone have this net fitted to their Caddy? Or has anyone retrofitted it?
I'm trying to work out which parts I need from here:

Looks like I need these ones. Would appreciate it if anyone who's retrofitted this could confirm...

Re: Retrofit OEM (factory option) cargo net?
Hi mate.
I got one of these of eBay from Poland... It came with a pair of mounts.
It fits easily enough but one thing to note is (in my panel van at least) the nuts aren't in the chassis already, so you'll need to either source some and drop them in after removing the head lining, or do what I did and rivet them in.
I wouldn't recommend riveting. They seem weak.
I'll be redoing it soon.
Another point...
You can't mount this behind the front seats... It sits fairly far back as it's designed to fit just behind the rear seats.

Re: Retrofit OEM (factory option) cargo net?
Thanks, I think I've got it now. The "distance pieces" are needed if you don't have the molding fitted. The SWB Caddys have 4 mounting points, whereas the LWB ones have 6. I have the "not Pearl Grey" blanking covers, and (fortunately) I have the nuts welded into the chassis.
Big Question: Is it actually useful? I would like something that comes right up to the back of the front seats, but there are no mounting points other than the coat hooks (which I doubt would be strong enough). This one assumes you're using the rear seats and have folded them up completely.

It is pretty strong.
I have no rear seats at the moment but what I do is hook the bottom to the holes in the front seat bases.
I have no bulkhead so its handy for loading to roof.

But do you have the little nets fitted that have the hooks in your picture? The ones above the windows.
Could you tell me the part number and how they attach.
Thanks

Yes, they came factory fitted with the vehicle. I have no idea of what the part numbers are, nor how they're attached (I'm guessing with screws, but I'm not messing with them to find out). I'd expect there to be some variants. For instance, the Caddy in the picture above doesn't have the interior moldings whereas mine does.S.w.blackwell wrote:But do you have the little nets fitted that have the hooks in your picture? The moldings offset the hooks etc. from the body, so for the case of the cargo net we're talking about in this thread, there are spacers required if no moldings are present...
Please discuss this further in a separate thread if necessary.

Re: Retrofit OEM (factory option) cargo net?
Finally got the parts (takes a while to get European parts in South Africa!) - part numbers were as listed earlier in this thread. Very happy with it. Has two top mounting points and can be attached to cargo hooks on floor or frame of front seats for 3 separate configurations. Here it's behind the rear seats.

Re: Retrofit OEM (factory option) cargo net?
Quite a few pics that were in this thread are no longer viewable. In case anyone's interested in any of this, there are 2 sets of mount points: one that allows the net to be fitted behind the front seats, and another that allows the net to be fitted behind the rear seats. I keep this net in all of the time (behind the rear) seats. Allows packing to the roof in both configurations, and is easily removed and rolled up when it's not in use. Still very happy with it...
