Rear windows blackout
I have recently had my windows tinted however due to the black dot matrix I have a border around both windows. Being a little ocd I have thought about other ways of blacking out the rear windows as I won't be needing them anyway.
My question is how if you've done it have you done it. I thought about black vinyl on the inside to keep the gloss window effect but will that not just border up again? Plastidip the inside? Paint?
Thanks

Plastidip sounds like a very good idea! If you change your mind, just rip it off

Mine are plastic wrapped / coated on the outside in the same colour as the van, makes it almost like its a solid door. I bought the van that already done and was going to remove it but quite like it now. Only downside is that the plastic is opaque.

Black aerosol sounds like it would go terribly wrong for me. I think I'll order a can of plastidip and see how that goes, I wanted to dip the inside door pillar/frame that shows through colour on the inside of the van anyway. Will report back once it's been done!

Vinyl either inside or outside. But don't see how the dot matrix is bothering you, it is on almost every car that is out there..

Yeah it's the border that the dot matrix gives that's bothering me. Would I not get the border effect with vinyl?caddy2kNOR wrote:Vinyl either inside or outside. But don't see how the dot matrix is bothering you, it is on almost every car that is out there..![]()

It's on almost every car, so I don't see the problem. Not sure if the vinyl will form around the dot matrix, depends on the depth between the dots. But if you dont want any possibility to see through, cut out some plywood and use them to cover the window. Put some black felt on it, then the dot matrix won't be visible anymore
